I stopped playing early last season so I have quite a bit to do. Haven't even done this seasons activity yet

Some huge news today (most of it good).

Witch Queen delayed to 2022
Sunsetting is done (they realized their mistake)
PVP update coming

Salvagers Salvo is fun to use, it's kind of like a grenade launcher version of Loaded Question.

I stopped playing this for a while now. I used to be in iAM (still in but just inactive), one of the top PvP clans, from Destiny 1 but I just can't find myself to come back anytime soon. Not sure, maybe just burnt out. Seems like Bungie's just rehashing and bringing back all the Destiny 1 weapons and levels.

Sometimes I feel it's best to take a break from this game, then when you come back there's plenty to catch up on, I'm definitely addicted to it again.

I did my first ever Deep Stone Crypt today and got Eyes of Tomorrow . One of the guys in my clan has run it 76 times with no luck. I kind of felt bad, just a little.

Be sure to dismantle all your shaders by the end of this season. They are going back to the older D1 system where shaders won't be single use inventory items (thank goodness).

If you missed the Heir Apparent exotic last time (it was a long grind), go for it now, it is a super short quest. I think the quest drops randomly, just start farming the new strike playlist and I got it right away. You basically collect 50 laurels and then get 100 machine gun kills and you have it. Takes like 3-4 strikes. I'm working on getting the catalyst now.

Also it is easy getting platinum medals. Just grab the nightfall one and run it on the easiest difficulty. There's no champions or modifiers and it is super fast.

This last season was great, both story and gameplay. I'm really looking forward to the new one tomorrow.

I have 549 hours on Steam played so far, and that doesn't count all the hours on console.

I was able to get in quite a bit after the afternoon issues settled down. The new 6 man activity is ok, but it is no Menagerie. Basically there's a mote gathering phase, and a boss fight, along with a couple other mechanics thrown in (hard to tell, as someone on my team knew what to do and took care of things). Not bad, but I think it is going to get old in a hurry.

Otherwise it seems like the usual, level up a maguffin and get umbrals.

Lots of good story elements early on with actual voice actors and not just a quick "oh by the way this happened". Try and get in before the internet completely spoils the minor surprise.

I was recently thinking of getting back in D2. But there's so much I missed that it was overwhelming and discouraged me.

But I've been curious as to what Bungie has been up to. I did a quick search and as expected its all Destiny related. I assume they have other things brewing in their secret pipeline but I haven't been able to find anything.

I guess for now at least Bungie is solely a Destiny developer like Digital Extremes is the Warframe developer. I guess the Destiny business is so profitable to them that they can continue with that one IP that supports such a large studio with hundreds of employees. I just wish they would release something new already.

I'm sure it's widely a different set of leadership / employees now, but it's funny how they left the Microsoft contract so they could do things other than "just Halo", and went off and turned themselves into a studio where they only make and support one franchise.

Bungie is working on some sort of new, non-Destiny game, but many years out and it hasn't even been officially announced.

Destiny 2 has content at least through 2023. The next big DLC (they moved from fall to Q1) is Witch Queen in Q1 2022, then they have what is hinted to be the last Destiny 2 DLC in Q1 2023, but of course that could all change.

The game isn't bad to jump back in. Everything really revolves around seasons now. You'll be way behind in story, and you'll need to level up your character a bit, that that usually goes quickly. As far as loot or anything, there's really nothing you need to get back in. I play every season and I miss lots of stuff.

The new "pinnacle" mission is ok, but nothing like Presage. It is short, and about 90% jumping puzzles. The jumping wasn't bad, just a few "that thing just moved after you jumped and now you die" kind of things that get old. it doesn't take long and doesn't need a fireteam. The boss at the end is kind of annoying but not terrible.

The mission doesn't give anything except a high stat roll armor. No pinnacle (in spite of the name), no exotic or anything else.
