Disney+ (Disney Plus) UPDATE Hulu To Merge Into Disney+ March 2024

Does anyone know if there will be Xbox and PS apps for this? I assume so. I don't have a smart TV so my game consoles are my best option to watch.

I try googling and all I get is some old article just speculating. Has anyone preordered and gotten more info?

Yep, there’s press releases out there ( I’ll find later) and I got confirmation whilst signing up at D23. There was an ad for it on the Xbox dash once, for preorder.

When does the Disney Plus + Hulu + ESPN Plus go live?

I just have to get the Disney separately because there's no bundle with hulu with live TV. But since they just announced it still be supported on fire sticks now I don't have to gate it through the xbox.

They are supporting Fire now? That's great. I was going to buy a Fire Stick but was waiting to make sure it got supported.

I wonder if I should go month to month or just get a year? Not sure this service will hold my interest much beyond Mandalorian. I don't really need a monthly service when all I want is Star Wars and Marvel. I don't have kids so most of the content is useless for me.

I would guess so, they'd be missing out on a pretty big market if not. Better have Chromecast support too

Supposed to go live around 9 am EST/6 am PST tomorrow. I can see them having issues when it launches from all the demand.

Gonna try and watch some Disney Channel Original Movies tomorrow night with the lady. If I can't watch Brink I'm gonna lose it

  • Earlier this year Hulu upped the number of streams from one to two devices on its limited-commercial plan. (Hulu rarely had enforced the one stream limit before this.) Now if you get the $12.99 bundle you will only get one stream.
  • ESPN+ allows you to stream on five devices at once, but if you get the $12.99 bundle you will be limited to two streams at once.
  • You will be able to stream Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ all at the same time on different devices.
  • Disney+ will include 4K streaming in the $6.99 monthly plan and the $12.99 bundled price.

Is there a free trial? I want to see that Mandalorian episode.

The servers are getting crushed right now. You might want to wait a few days before signing up for the trial.

Yeah was just playing around with the search engine and while it'd find the title, it wouldn't load anything. If they don't have it fixed by tonight I"m never watching another Disney title ever again

I hear Greedo not only shoots first, but also throws a thermal detonator, let's loose a rancor and points the Death Star at Han. :)

I'm betting the servers start to get hammered again later as people get home from work/school.

For those into some deep sci-fi, there's an old movie from 1979 called The Black Hole. A cult classic that obviously got lost in the bigger sci-fi movies of the time. It is a neat mix of hokey 70s sci-fi but with some really dark themes thrown in. There's been talk of rebooting it like they did with Tron, but I don't think it ever got off the ground.

I imagine this is all on purpose so they can have headlines about the demand

I think companies are just too cheap to spin up enough servers for the opening day.

Plus you have every youtube "personality" all hammering the system at the same time do they can make their 20 minute "Disney Plus is a disaster!" clickbait.

They know that the 24/48 hour initial demand is going to be massive and then fall way off.

Saw that in the theater as a kid and enjoyed it back then. I haven't seen it since then, but I now know that it's a blatant remake of their own 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in space, which is really just an awesome movie, and I hope that classic 20KLUtS is on D+.

The Black Hole (Like Tron) is also a reminder of just how much Disney really wanted their own Star Wars back then.

So I was able to sign into ESPN+ on my phone earlier today with my Disney+ account, but I can’t figure out how to sign in on the ESPN app on XBox. Only an option to sign in with tv provider.
