Ox carts will go to one direction and back.
For example, Vernworth has 2 ox cart "stops". One ox cart will take you to Melve and back. The other will take you to Checkpoint Rest Town and back.

You don't control their destination.

I've only had 1, on occasion maybe 2 fights while on an ox cart. Most weren't anything to write home about. Some goblins.

I've only had 1 encounter while camping. I usually clear out the are before making camp.

I realize that now. I guess it seemed like I had some control over it because my destinations were between the same 2 towns for quite a while. Most of the encounters for me are the goblins or wolves, but I've been attacked by the ogre several times as well.

I was on one that got attacked yesterday and my pawn destroyed it with one of his abilities lol he did a big uppercut kind of move with a sword and shattered it so we were on foot at night lol.
I always try to rent pawns that have that ability because it works well against all of the tall creatures. I always have my main pawn as a mage because I'm too lazy to cure myself most of the time.

I can't stick to one vocation for very long. I'm at level 30 and maxed out the archer, mystic spearhand and started the thief now. I'll probably stick to the magic arrcher if I ever find out how to get it.

I have maxed out the sorcerer, the mage is at 7, the spear hand at 5 and the archer at 6 I think and I'm around level 32 I think. I really love this game lol, it's got flaws but something about it is just fun, I do wish some things were different like all towns having a port crystal automatically etc and it'd be nice to be able to have more than one save file going at a time but still really enjoying it.

Leveled out Thief and Archer. I'm now a Warfarer and using both classes. I think I'm around level 54. I've been doing mostly the side quests and pretty much exposed most of the map. I haven't been every cave and every nook, but been to most places.

This game has been great.

Yeah, it has minor issues that hopefully can be fixed over time. I really hate the fast travel system, but most of the game world is enjoyable to explore anyway. I'm level 33 now and made my way into the desert area and getting destroyed way more than before.

I'm surprised that only 3 of us here are even playing this game it seems.

I'm starting to hate the escorting of those you've met. Once was enough for each. I can see them waiting for me outside my house, so I go an rest at the inn instead. The escorting just isn't fun once you do it a few times. They are horrible at following you.

I just take an ox cart if they are going to a place that has one.

Played a few hours yesterday, chose the variable fps mode and the intro sequence at the throne room was rough, almost made me seasick... but after that it's been pretty good, much better than the locked 30fps mode imo.
Also, game looks... okay? The vistas look amazing imo, but the character models are hit and miss and the animation is pretty bad lol.
Was fun to play though, will continue tonight.

This happens on a lot of games, but I was stuck in a certain area where I couldn't escape the onslaught of enemies all ganging up and killing me. I had goblins, harpies, a cyclops with helmet, and a dragon all attacking me at once and the more I ran the more enemies that joined in. I must've died 5 times before giving up until 3 days later. I just went right through every enemy last night without much trouble? I thought I was gonna have to load an inn save and lose hours of gameplay, but nooooope.

I think I die more times rescuing the goofballs that refuse to follow me and keep dying for no reason.

You certainly aren't a lucky gamer.
I'll have you in my thoughts next time I play this game.
