My DS4 lasts...2 hours when fully charged. WTF. I have adjusted the power settings to shut it off after 10 minutes of non use, but the thing dies so quick. Shame.

Hm, haven't timed mine yet. But I'm able to game for extended periods of time without it dying on me. Of course I just plug in and charge when I'm not using it.
Haven't really tested it but I'd say mine is at least 5 hours. Just bought a USB extender so won't matter if it dies while playing now.
I haven't timed it but i would say its at least 5 hours since i played killzone the other night for that long and didn't recharge it at all during the play time, nor did i get a warning. If i had to guess its closer to the 8-10 hours. I'll try to keep track of it over the weekend.
I really like the PS4, if i had to give some thumbs down thus far it would controller battery life (compared to DS3), the light on the controller, and PSN download speed last week.

I haven't noticed any differences between the DS3 and DS4 in terms of Battery Life. I played for 5+ hours and i still didn't get a message saying battery is low last night. I did put it on charge when i saw it had one bar left.
Do you just keep your PS4 on all the time? I always put mine on standby whenever I'm not using it.

I was hoping to be able to charge my DS4's via standard USB chargers/sockets. I have them all over my house, at most of my outlets and have power strips that have multiple USB charging ports. But currently at least that doesn't seem to work.
I do have 2 sets of the Energizer chargers, I like them. Hold's 2 controllers. I imagine at some point maybe even a 3rd party will sell a charger.
