This is such a mess. I downloaded the 50gb game after no preload was available, then when I went to play it kicked me out and said it needed a 45gb update.

Will you look back on Dying Light: The Beast as one of the best and most memorable games you played in 2025? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have a good time.
There’s a lot to like here, but just not a lot to love. Battering zombies and leaping from rooftop to rooftop is undeniably great fun, running away from Volatiles at nighttime is a genuine thrill, and the open world looks great.
However, Kyle Crane is a straightforward protagonist in a straightforward story that didn’t compel me to push forward out of interest in the plot, and the new Beast Mode mechanic doesn’t add anything of value.

Been playing a couple hours, the graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is pretty fun. Coming from the first one and having not played much of the second, this feels much more survival horror as zombies are pretty dangerous, even the basic ones.
Had to turn down the difficulty to story, the high damage you take and losing a bunch of XP with every death was kind of ruining the fun for me.

Well, staring to regret buying at full price. I maybe should have known since I hated DL2, but the first game is one of the best all time for me so just goes to show how far nostalgia will take you.
I do need to spend more time with it, but I don’t even really get how it’s supposed to flow. I got to a mission that the game didn’t recommend because my level was too low, but I didn’t have any side missions available leaving me to just boringly loot some of the locations on the map to get xp and improve my gear.
I’m guessing I’m missing something obvious? Still, level gating main missions is definitely annoying

Quick update, I looked at the map and I was definitely being an idiot and was missing some obvious side mission icons. Completed a couple of those and the game is flowing a lot better for me. Still not at DL1 levels but a fun time regardless
