E3 2020 Cancelled

With what I'm seeing on twitter from other devs, outright cancellation.

Sorry for the double post, but companies really need to hit YouTube and other streaming platforms HARD around the same time that E3 would have been. They've got three months to create their own keynotes, teasers, etc at their own HQ's. They need to make sure they push as much content as they can, so the consumer doesn't feel left out. This is the biggest gaming event of the year every year, and really sets the tone for what's going to happen in the holidays.

This goes x100 for Microsoft and Sony with their console launches, since that was expected to be the focal point anyway.

Still feels weird to say no E3 this year. Would not have guessed in a year with console releases and blockbuster fall games that we wouldn't have an E3 to hype it up but here we are.

The only difference for those of us who wouldn't have been there live is we'll be watching presentations that don't have an audience full of fans cheering, otherwise it's the same thing, as far as we are concerned we've been watching digital presentations for years.

That's if they release this year. Could easily be pushed back

Agreed if the supply chain is messed up anywhere and/or production is unable to ramp up, I can easily see the consoles slipping to March of 2020.

Right now though I'm just going with the AMD exec said on their Financial analyst day that the consoles are still on track for Holiday 2020.

As well as missing reactions/previews from actual hands-on experience with the games. Just canned videos from "selected" players. That's a bit different, if you ask me.

We'll still get those just not on the same day, they all get flown out to the devs/pubs to play the games before release anyway. There are plenty of times where the games shown at E3 aren't even playable on the show floor, the press gets a private hands off demos and they talk about what they've seen more and more.

Anyone here catched this corona flu yet?

Last week, I was in the Walmart in my state where one of the workers had the virus and spread it to others. I started feeling rather bad today, so who knows...
