EA to reveal six new games at E3 press conference
New titles to include a "major new game" from a "flagship developer"

Posted on Wednesday 7-May-2014 1:40 AM PDT By Aoife Wilson, Staff Writer for OXM

New Mortal Kombat or Injustice 2 announcement incoming?

isn't that always the way? You wait around for months for news of a new games and then hey presto - six come along at once

EA's CEO Andrew Wilson teased the fact that the company would reveal a "major new game" during a financial results call on Tuesday (via SeekingAlpha). He also revealed that the game was in development at a "flagship developer," and would be powered by Frostbite 3 - the same engine that DICE developed to run Battlefield 4. It's being flagged for release later this year.

Meanwhile, Spike TV's Geoff Keighley revealed yesterday that the channel's live coverage of E3 would include the reveal of no less than six new games from EA.
Although there are no confirmed details on any of the games at present, let's do a little detective work. It's probably safe to assume that one of those titles is Mass Effect 4, which we know to be in development at Bioware Montreal and has previously been pegged for a late 2014 release.

Another of the six could be Visceral's new Star Wars game, which is in development with former Naughty Dog creative director Amy Hennig at the helm but has yet to receive a formal announcement. EA has confirmed that there will be no new Need for Speed this year, so we can count that out. The rest, well, we'll just have to wait and see.

Battlefront isn't new. Show me that!

Madden 2015, FIfa 2015, Battlefield 5. Dead Space 4, Mass Effect 4 and a new star wars game. :p

Hope they have a good BF game. Last 2 have been very disappointing to me. We need a new one in the vein of BF1942/BF2.

To be honest though, with how they are treating PC gamers with the sports titles, I am inclined to just boycott EA right now. No next-gen Fifa 14, No UFC 2014, No FIFA world cup...s*** is just annoying and frustrating as hell. Having said that though, I am really liking the look of UFC 2014 and Hopefully one of these 6 games will be Mirrors edge 2.

Also, we know Need for speed is skipping 2014, so can we expect a new Burnout game at E3 ? would be awesome.

I honestly think that if piracy wasn't so rampant, you'd see more PC releases. That's not on EA. It's the only logical explanation why they'd pass on potential revenue. The darn games are MADE on PCs...

That's bulls***. If they didn't release any games then your conclusion would be more applicable, but all the BF games are released, dead space, FIFA 14, Need for speed, Mirrors edge...etc. They release so many that I fail to see how Piracy keeps them from releasing these. Their Fifa 14 excuse was pathetic, and their World cup excuse was even worse.

I'd love a new Burnout game, what's Criterion up to?
Who knows. They only really do racers and we haven't had a burnout game since Paradise in 2008, so it seems highly logical to me. I hope to god they do not have them on some F2P crap like NFS Wolrd.

I think Need For Speed is "their" franchise now. I'd love for another "retail" Burnout game, Burnout: Crash was fun for a bit but felt more like a side game.

I also wouldn't mind a sequel to Black, that was a fun game too. Didn't the co-founders leave the studio this year?

piracy is just as rampant on xbox 360. just go to the official forums and read posts from all the people crying about their box being banned and having to buy a new one.

Besides, I thought we had a discussion recently about how piracy was down and sales were up for PC due to Steam and to a lesser extent Origin.

So the piracy is rampant thing is no longer the reason.

It's that console manufacturers give EA large sums of cash for their games. MS doesn't do that for PC games, in fact no one does.

Please tell me that Battlefront isn't being done by danger close, or members of DC. I don't want it to be as abysmal as the last two Medal of Honor games.

Not that it has never been this way though. FIFA 10 was the first FIFA game with a (then) 'next-gen' engine running on PC, so it will takee a while this time as well.

BTW, Battlefront was specifically stated by name to be on E3. That, and EA has whole lot of games unlike Activision, so I would safely say that all 6 games are new IPs. Just don't expect all of them to be a massive scale ones.

I'm doubting battlefield will be among those 6, at least battlefield 5. Or maybe I just hope it won't be so there's more room for star wars stuff.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed battlefront is being done by DICE.
Another reason I think battlefield will not be at E3. I figure any and all properties of EA developers (Bioware, Visceral, etc) that weren't far enough along (Like dragon age) are being put on hold for star wars.

Again though, I sort of just hope that's the case
