Eidos announces Deus Ex: Universe!

The concept behind Deus Ex: Universe is to create an ongoing, expanding and connected game world built across a generation of core games. It’s a commitment on our part to deliver meaningful content that expands the franchise on a regular basis and to deliver a deep conspiracy that will span several connected Deus Ex games, creating a more immersive and richer experience than ever before. Deus Ex: Universe will include PC and console games, but also additional Deus Ex games and experiences available in other media such as tablets, smartphones, books, graphic novels, etc... You might have seen the name pop up recently in the press – well this is what it’s all about.

I’m pleased to confirm that we are already into production of the starting point for Deus Ex: Universe with a new game for PC and next-generation consoles. We’re very excited about it at the studio and I wanted to let you know that most of the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is already working hard on this new game. It took us four years to learn how to create a unique Deus Ex experience with Human Revolution and it was important for me to keep this knowledge within the franchise.

I want to leave you with a piece of concept art from our next-gen Deus Ex game that shows trans-humanism segregation, which is a backdrop to our vision for the next Deus Ex. It represents a "ghetto-city' voluntarily built in order to separate the classes. The people in this segregated class have reshaped their environment, nostalgic for their ideal of Cyber Renaissance. This dark and dystopian vision sets the tone for things to come in Deus Ex.

For now, I hope you are excited about the future of this game that we love so much. Deus Ex is coming to next-gen, it’s early so don’t expect to hear much more from us just yet, but I wanted you to know.

I'm very excited as a developer and gamer!

I hope they make it longer. Hu. revolution felt short for me. They better make the gunplay smoother.

Shut up & take my money! EX: Human Evolution is one of my favorite game this gen. I think I spend 40 hours on the game, finishing every possible missions in the game, & full stealth in most missons.

I haven't played Human Revolution yet. Got to get it, I've been wanting to play that game for the longest

It's really worth the play, the gun mechanics feel clunky though, that's my only gripe with it. Also, they really pushed the whole "freedom of choice" with their levels.

I have no excuse for not having played that game yet. Thanks I'll take your word for it. Probably get it this week or the next.

I absolutely loved Human Revolution. I played through it without killing anyone and without setting any alarms off; it was great. I look forward to where they take it from here.

Don't care about the tablet junk but if they give me another game like Human Revolution then I'll be there day one.

I have yet to play any Deus Ex games :(
Its one of these game, where you wonder why people who play like it so much, until you try it yourself. But the game does start slow. Only after about 5-6 hours do the game open up.

The beauty of the game is the choices you have. It depends on how you build your character, should you take on these guys, took a alternative routes, & there are plenty of multiple ways to get to your objective, multiple ways to complete your objectives? Go for steath kill, or no kill, but knock down or use a turret against them.

Every upgrade, you will really think hard, & depend on what you upgrade, can be game changing. Learn lift heavy objects, & you can stack carton to reach hard to reach places, leran to break wall, open more path. Learn high jump, reach places you cannot otherwise go. Learn hacking, aceess more area, open more boxes, learn control turret, you can use it against them....I can go on.

Which game is that? DE:HR? I will have to check it out if i find it for cheap

Great news! Human Revolution was kind of a throwback in a way to an older style of game. Better than the original. Gave me a System Shock vibe a little, and that's the greatest GOAT IMO. Hopefully, they don't dumb it down for the masses, turn it into a linear mess with a less complex UI (hello, Bioshock, Thief sequels) to appeal to a larger audience.

Awesome news! its good to see that there are some more next gen only games coming.

I like this a lot. They did a much better job with HR than I expected (or certainly feared) and if they can deliver another game on that level I'll be buying.

Futureshop/Bestbuy show the same price online, it's probably $10 used at GS. I'll prolly pick it up and play through it abit tonight

Gooood yes goood. Best 10 bucks you will ever spend in a game! If you like stealth that is because as someone previously stated the gun controls are clunky and just crap really. But luckily it's a game best enjoyed stealthily and going for a ghost playthrough is a satisfying challenge. Enjoy!
