Official Thread Elder Scrolls VI

Once the ink is dry on the deal and all other previously agreed to deals have been met, Bethesda will become a true Xbox first party. Xbox wants you in their ecosystem, and making you come to them for Bethesda games is just one way they plan on drawing players in.

Dude, that video is from March 2019!

Because it was already announced for PS which MS trend to honour as a good will gesture

But that's the thing.

No specific platforms were announced for neither Starfield or TES VI. Todd Howard simply said these are next gen games. He never mentioned Xbox or Playstation.

I absolutely don't see any logical reason for MS to spend billions on Bethesda and then to let behemoth franchises from BGS still release on PS5. Not when they have Game Pass at 15m already and hardcore fans of Bethesda games (not only BGS) will come to your system or service if that's the only way and watch the subs increase once these heavy hitters release.

Sony would 100% keep it all for PS, but now with Xbox I see so many people, including media starting to say it doesn't make sense to keep Xbox and PC exclusive. But it does. Xbox will become THE place for these amazing RPGs.

I think it’s more a case of wishful thinking. Exclusives sell consoles is what we’re always told. MS have no exclusives is the cry. MS shells out 7.5 billion to have control of some major ip, now they should release on competitors console? Nonsense.
Yeah, I know for some people it is hard to understand. Microsoft don't need a Sony platform to sell.
Windows already have a huge base and xbox, now throw in new devices with Android and you can see Sony platform is more of a joke.

I don’t think MS are stupid, they know what people say about them as far as exclusives go.

Exactly. This acquistion alone has made me lean toward snagging an XSX more so than all the previous ones combined. I've been staying on the fence about xbox next gen as they're still not really proving they've got what it takes to justify the system yet, but the potential that all BGS, Arkane, MachineGames and iD's titles are exclusive definitely tip the scales in their favor. Looks like I'll likely be remaining a 2 system residence, haha...

If XGS launches games like ESVI on PS5 than what exactly was the point of the purchase? Game Pass alone is not selling Xbox' and Subscriptions in the Xbox eco system. XGS must have high profile exclusives the way Nintendo and Sony do. Elder Scrolls VI is a very high profile game, the type that brings people into your eco system.
The point of the purchase is to make Zenimax/Bethesda games exclusive. Sony paid for 2 timed exclusives so those games are still launching on PS5 for contractual reasons.

I hope branching dialogue falls under the "survival mechanics" umbrella. I didn't prefer the direction they took character interaction in Fallout 4.

"Xbox head Phil Spencer confirms The Elder Scrolls 6 won't release until after Playground Games' Fable, hinting at a post-2023 release date.

Fans have been waiting a long time for The Elder Scrolls 6 to finally grace their PCs and consoles. Bethesda officially announced the next installment of its acclaimed action RPG franchise during E3 2018. However, there has been little information released since.

Recently though, fans gained insight into when the Elder Scrolls 6 might finally make its debut. During an appearance on IGN’s Unlocked podcast, Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed fans wouldn’t be seeing a new Elder Scrolls until sometime after Playground Game’s releases the next Fable."

My greatest concern with this is that Avowed, InXile's FPRPG and Elder Scrolls 6 releases converge in a proximal trifecta, and I don't go outside for an entire year.

Never played an Elder Scrolls actually.
Well, then I guess you've got a few months of gaming ahead of you then, I've clocked in about 200h on Skyrim switch edition... After I've finished it on 360, xone and about 40h on the upgraded xonex version.
There's a reason they keep porting that game, truly phenomenal. Even oblivion holds up fairly well imo.

I'll get around to it. I'm finishing through Judgment now. Then Ghost of Tsushima DC out later this month. Followed by Death Stranding DC, Tales of Arise, Lost Judgment, Kena Bridge of Spirits in September, then Demon Slayer, Fatal Frame Black Maiden, Back 4 Blood in October. It's going to be busy and will probably have backlog. If they ever come out with a DC or remake/remaster for Elder Scrolls I will look into it.

Is that Fatal Frame exclusive to PS?
