This is no TXB
This thing was one of the high points of E2. Looks fantastic but $150 price tag is crippling. I wanted a new controller, one with the new mic plug at least, but this is tempting. If only it was $99 I wouldn't blink in picking it up.

I want this too, but 150 dollars is a prohibitive pricepoint. It will drop in time and I'll be there to pick it up then. The present one will do just fine until then.

WTF! 150 for a controller? Looks like I'm sticking with what I got.

This must be the controller they spent a billion on. Its exactly what I've been wanting for years now ...Backside paddles, trigger sensitivity, adjustable height/replaceable thumbsticks, If they allow you to custom map buttons that will be the cherry on top or maybe adjust the thumbstick throw deadzone sensitivity and pitch speed.

150 is pricey but on par with modded controllers with these features.

$150 is to rich for my blood. Will wait for a sale lol.

If you guys won't spend $150, then you're not HARDCORE DUDEBRO FISTBUMB BAG AND TAG MUTHAf***A! gamers...go play WiiU and let the real men with real jobs who make real money who can afford this real controller get their hardcore gaming on!

Controller looks pretty awesome though.

Wait they spent $1b on this one after spending like $10m on the original XBO controller?! Jesus

Looks like the greatest gamepad ever made, but no gamepad is worth $150. What the hell are they thinking?

Great link. Looks like parts are all inclusive so no need to get nickled and dimed buying all the sticks which takes some of the sting out of the $150. Also, looks like you hook it up to an app and can map buttons and create any profiles you want.

•Xbox Elite Wireless Controller
•Carrying case
•Set of 4 paddles
•Set of 6 thumbsticks: standard (2), tall (2), and domed (2)
•Set of 2 D-pads: faceted and standard
•USB cable
•AA batteries
•Quick Setup Guide and Product Manual

Just when you think you are living in luxury with the current controller they release this. Any speculation on the profit margins MS would command with this?

Looks awesome but that price is hardcore.

I'm really interested to hear how it's used in different kinds of games though.

LOL. Ooops My bad I think it was a hundred million not a billion, My inner Doctor Evil getting outta control.

When I saw it I was expecting it to be $79.99 or something. It looks really great, but when it's nearly half the price of the console....ridiculous. They should have spent that money towards future IP's and game development.

Maybe $150 for 2 controllers.

I guess they are aiming for the ultra hardcore gamer.

Nice, but there's no way I'm coughing $100+ for a controller unless it's a one-of-kind fighting stick or a steel battalion 40 button controller. I could see this being thrown to the clearance bin a year later.

$150 means no for me and I was really going to buy at $100.

That price tag is going to change. It'll probably be around 100 soon.
100 is reasonable for me but anything above that is a no no.

Also hoping they'll have a ton more of customizable accessoires such as coloring, different ones on each part etc.
They'd probably make more from that then from the controller itself. I'd probably spent double the amount on accessoires if that was an option.

Its all about profit percentages...if you're making $40 off selling it at $150 and only $10 at selling at $100...you only need to sell a 1/4 of the units in order to reach the same amount of profit. Then, once you see the demand die down and sale start to slow, you offer bigger and bigger discounts once the number of people willing to buy at that price point dwindles. Its a smart business decision. It sucks for people who really want it but don't want to drop $150. Simple solution is you'll have to wait for it to drop in price.

Modded Evil Controllers and Scuf Controllers cost the same and the Elite controllers look better and will obviously be built better and have better functionality. The paddles are hard wired and can't be changed on the modded controllers. On the Elite, everything is mappable I believe.

People's reaction to the price is expected but as Plainview said, it's equivalent to a scuff but looks better build quality to me. Hell I paid ÂŁ200 quid for my X55 Rhino HOTAS.
Considering the amount of time I'll be using the pad I think it's worth it. It's a real quality bit of kit. Not for everyone sure but nice to have the option.

They refuse to lower the price of Kinect very quickly, so I doubt they will lower the price of their controller either.

Amazing controller, definitely getting one. Looks like it’s built extremely well, should last a good while. The only problem with it is after you use it everything else might feel inferior.

That price is steep, but that is still great looking. I am still tempted. Hopefully someone puts them on a black friday special this holiday.

^ Good points.
I know a lot of people tout the Kinect (controller) as being worth the circa 150 bucks it costs standalone but for those of us who use our controllers for the majority of our gaming this is easily worth the price compared to how much we use it.
This should eventually become the standard controller IMO and get an eventual price drop , And let us keep our thumbs on the sticks where they belong.

I couldn't agree more. I am picking this controller up day one. Hard to believe the best controller just got that much better.
