Why is the music I paid for on iTunes behind a paywall?

When I switched from Android to iPhone a couple of years ago, I was able to seamlessly transfer my Play store music to my iPhone 6+. The reverse? Not so much. I get the honor of paying a $10 per month fee to rent the music I bought on their service.

I know someone will tell me how I never really "bought" the music in the first place etc.. or that I can just use iTunes on pc and transfer my music manually. But its still so anti consumer. Especially when your competitor allows you to transfer with no issues.

Yeah I had to jump through some rings when switching to Groove a few years back.

And f*** apple

I was really tempted to go Apple this time. Ultimately I ended up preordering the Galaxy S8 Plus. I've had a Galaxy S5 for years, so it's quite a leap, butt honestly the S5 was way ahead of its time.

Anyway, I did like Apple products. I just always feel like my money could be better spent elsewhere. I also like the openness off the Android format, as I also feel about Windows.

happy with my S7 but would go back to my Lumia 950xl if the apps had been improved.

I always felt like a was going to end up being a late adopter to Windows Phone. It's kind of too bad that they dumped it. I'm guessing they are still on track with the surface Phone? I guess off they make Windows 10 scalable to mobile, they could finally catch back up with apps pretty quickly? Microsoft filed a patent for a phone that folds out to a tablet. Sounds cool.

Think its still planned but they will go for the business crowd more than anything from the sounds of it.

Apple has been doing this for years and years. Somehow they've convinced people that they are so much better than the competition. In reality they are less flexible and more expensive.

Want a new iMac laptop? It only comes with USB C and you'll need adapters for everything. Some folks at work just found this out. Oh and the adapters are super expensive and hard to find since nobody else needs them right now.

Amazon is great for music. You can actually download any MP3 you buy, more than once (there is a limit, but just grab the files and make as many copies as you want from there). Spotify is great. MS Groove is actually really good as well, and has a great advantage in that it allows you to upload your own MP3s so for those bands you love but who won't put their music on any service (Tool, etc) you can buy their music mp3s and upload them and have them conveniently with your other music.

I actually subscribe to both Groove and Spotify, because you can stream them on X1 and PS4. Even doubling up on them is still well worth it for me.

iPads are overpriced beyond reason. I spend $50 on an Amazon tablet, or there are lots of android options out there.

iPhones are good, but again you pay for them. Android is ok, but still are way, way cheaper.
