“The EVERSPACE™ Beta is already fully playable, balanced, and generally free of bugs. Over 10,000 players have been enjoying it since our Kickstarter in August 2015 and we believe we got a pretty solid space shooter in place already, but it is still lacking a few elements that we originally envisioned. Now, we would like to give everyone the opportunity to join in and get their hands on the game to help us create the best possible space shooter for you.”

“Over the next months, we will gather feedback from our community and work with you to improve EVERSPACE™ wherever reasonable based on the budget and the resources at our disposal. Bare in mind that we are a fairly small team of 12 developers. We have been working together on space shooters for over ten years but major additions like real-time multiplayer simply are out of scope, at least for the time being.

These are the features that we plan to add over the next few months:
  • Two additional player ships with different capabilities and starting gear
  • Dynamic cockpit displays for all player ships
  • A captivating non-linear fully voice-acted story featuring interesting and thoughtfully designed characters
  • Hardcore Mode with permadeath for die-hard roguelike fans
  • VR-Support for oculus Rift and HTC Vive

Another game I want but don't want to buy lol. I haven't even touched Elite Dangerous in a month or so. Should put more time into that before buying this.

In addition, I wanted to mention since the above video was posted, all three playable ships in the game are available with many other updated systems. Even still, there is still a lot of content on the way! Release is anticipated for Q2 2017.

It's still on my wishlist. Q2 release sounds perfect as I should be a bit more caught up on my backlog.
 
Tried the demo on Xbox and wasn't to impressed with it to be honest. I can see a good game in there but the preview that's available at the moment just isn't great.

I found the controls very messy and the ship hard to control. I play Elite a fair bit so I can handle complicated flying but for whatever reason this just seemed very awkward. I also got lost trying to get to an objective, I think it was the one where you have to mine for fuel. I feel it should maybe be more arcadey than it was.
 
I prefer mouse/keyboard over the XBox controller on a general level, but I haven't tried playing Everspace with the controller so I can't speak to it myself. That said, I have heard from some individuals with a similar remark about the controls feeling awkward, specifically the boost tied to pushing in the right analog stick.

I can't be more specific than that as it was a good while ago since I played it. If I go back to it I'll post something on the details.
 
Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a little update the developers provided this morning via Twitter:



What this means is that some of the previous issues the developers were having using Unreal Engine should be resolved in the upcoming v0.4 patch, coming to ALL CURRENT PLATFORMS (not just Steam) planned for February. In addition to the code base, the game itself will be receiving some modifications and tweaks as well, including (but not limited to) Gunship buffs to armor and drones, Enhancement Perks for unique runs and much more for v0.4.
 
Giraffasaur Are there any plans to release a PS4 version?

Michael Schade (CEO/Co-Founder of Rockfish Games) has stated that further platforms are not ruled out, and if they are included they will be announcing them when the time is right. He also mentioned he has a PS4 but no gaming PC at his home as a little tease.

It's very likely they've been testing a PS4 port. Time will tell to see if they can fit it into their workload.

It's been a minute, so I wanted to drop a couple things about the upcoming patch (v0.4) which should be dropping within the next two weeks if all goes accordingly.

Ship Layouts: Allows different loadouts of equipment. This applies to all three ships.
Enhancements: Modifiers that will alter little details of a run. Only a few Enhancements can be selected before each run, creating more variety.
Smart Crafting: Your recently crafted items will appear at the top of your crafting list, making certain items more accessible. (Scanning Probes will be much easier to craft, for instance.)
Gunship Buffs: Armor is raising at least 10% to help this beastly ship live up to it's name, while modifications to it's Drone usage and Energy reserves will provide some serious firepower additions.

As with every version addition, it's likely we'll see a slew of gameplay tweaks and updates as well.

Approvals hit a couple kinks but the team has pushed through gaining the last bits they needed. Update drops later this week!

Progress is moving forward quickly with QA testing and approvals, so the version skipped ahead a few! Be looking out for this drop in the next couple weeks, or even next few days!

Hey everyone! The new update has gone live. :D

Couple of sweet new details:

Ancient structures and enemies
11 new Enhancements called Glyphs, obtained from Ancient remains
Fully functional cockpit displays (with the ability to remove the HUD for an immersive experience; highly recommended)
New Missile Turret for the Gunship
Tweaks and balance changes galore
