Official Thread Fable IV

So what you are saying is that Playground Games have meetings at a conference table. They had a 10am Damage Control meeting. During said meeting, someone came up with the idea to alter their personal linkedin profile to show the game is coming along....with the hopes that a random guy on twitter that has 5 followers and is following 48 others will have Vijay Gill's linkedin profile added as a browser favorite or as a linkedin friend would leak this to the internet?

Nope. They announced it because every site was leaking it already so MS said f*** it, yes it's coming.
That's not why lol they announced several games that day with CGI trailers that hadn't really started development yet either.

Ultimately I don't give a s*** either, since I still haven't beaten Elden Ring, Dying Light 2, and God of War Ragnarok, literally just finished Horizon 2 last month, and have numerous others I could play from the last few years if I needed to.

But this is a video game forum so may as well talk about something. And I think announcing things and then going dark for 2-3 years is goofy.
Can we ban this guy for not playing Elden Ring yet?

MS need to work on having a big release every 2-4 months within a couple years

Not sure they have the studios for that.

While they have like 20 studios it isn't really possible for them to put big AAA games every year. Plus half the studios are AA studios, Undead Labs, Ninja Theory, etc.

A game takes roughly 4 years. Then like 2 years for decent, worth while sequels. That doesn't even factor in Bethesda, who make huge RPGs . I mean how old is Skyrim now? Still years away From a new ES. And these usually take up multiple teams.

Even with Acti/Blizzard on board, I don't think a big game every 3 months is realistic.

Every halo game before infinite took about three years before releasing.

with the abk merger, do you think cod development will consolidate, maybe switch to a “every other year” release? Do they really need like 10 seperate studios to work on one game, even though one of three takes lead when in development

Doubt it. COD and the Mobile games are the cash cows. I don't see MS changing anything there.

They must need them.

What about for single player?

I’m sure many of the devs would prefer to go out and make new ip or return to ones they’ve worked on. I think there’s been interviews where neversoft felt relief they didn’t have to work on a new Tony hawk game and then felt the same when they moved on to guitar hero and then got just got assimilated to working on cod.

I'm sure they would, but to allow that they would have replace a team. I just don't see anything changing. COD makes too much money.

I hope I'm wrong because CoD needs some drastic changes.

I hope MS can help make COD great again. Please listen to the community!

I think they have the studios now with Activision and Zenimax on the team to do at least one AAA game out per year as they get up to speed. 32 or 33 if I remember correctly total which is a lot compared to before.

Most of the Activision teams make COD. Then the mobile stuff too. There really aren't that many studios. Treyarch, beenox, SledgeHammer, Raven Software, Infinityward do COD year in year out. King does mobile. 6 studios off the board already.

COD is AAA in my eyes 👀

It is. But getting up to speed takes time. To spread them out and getting consistent output takes time. If all you are putting out is a yearly multiplatform game and maybe another AAA a year then that isn't going to cut it.

A new Blur would be great. Very underrated game.
