Official Thread Fable IV

Honestly who knows.

I will say that Fable without that childish humor is not really Fable. If they intended to completely neuter it they probably would have just launched a new IP. It isn't like Fable is a massively known franchise at this point.
Yeah, that would make sense... but I mean, Saints Row. Seriously, "modern sensibilities " don't seem to amount to fun or creative. It always seems to lead to a lack of distinct identity and soul.

Taken entirely out of context as usual.

A "modern take" on Fable could mean anything until we find out more, pretty vague really

But the key word by booty is "sensibilities." I mean we all see how f***ed and sensitive modern sensibilities are.

If he said "modern audiences" or "modern take" then you think about things like open world, CO-OP, RPG mechanics, mission structure, etc. You don't do that with "modern sensibilities."

Where did modern sensibilities come from? All I seen reported he said it was a "modern take" on the franchise.

Doesn't make sense considering how many XGS games are going with a 3rd party engine.
True, you’d figure they’d use and or salvage what they could by using what was done in unreal for fable legends. But then again, that other team has been making open world games using the forza engine (which high both teams have have developed), which is compatible with importing/using assets/tech from unreal. At least it’s current gen only, no?

No clue if it is cross gen or not.

From the same guy who used a Resetera wishlist as "rumored Xbox 2023 release schedule".

Development allegedly restarted. It appears the rumours were true.

Already debunked. They have a new job posting for the game and they are still using their Forzatech engine. Also the No name guy won’t respond to more questions nor will they mention a source. In addition they said starting from scratch but release next year. Another screwup on his part.

September and November MS confirmed all is good with Fable development.

Maybe we’ll find out with whatever rumored event starts this month and or February and or March, you heard it here First Ladies and lads
We won’t because MS confirmed 2 months ago it’s on target. Also no release date was given but it’s been assumed 2024. So still on target.

Yeah, we can wait for official news but if true, says targeting Q4 2024 earliest now.
Honestly even if this isn't true that's probably when it was going to come out at the earliest anyway. Making an open world action RPG is a lot different than a racing game. I think MS just announced it way too early, they probably hadn't even really started development yet at the time.

They were still forming the second of three teams…..well mostly hiring and rehiring og lionhead devs. They probably had a great pitch but just needed more new devs to support said team.
