Since I play on PS4, I'm sorta waiting on Neo info before progressing further in the game or with the DLC. This seems like the type of thing Bethesda would hopefully be all over for performance improvements.

I'm not coming back to this for a year or so. It's such a big time sink and I hate stop starting games.

Ill probably start from the start again, like I do with all the Elder Scrolls and Fallouts.

Sony says no to Mods in Fallout 4:

After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.

Wow.

Unbelievable, after all the bs and waiting, sony tell us they're not allowed on playstation.

I guarantee I will be getting the next Elder Scrolls on Scorpio, better visuals and mods, definitive as fvck.

Yeah, and remember the hoopla Sony promoted last gen when Unreal Tourney 3 had custom levels on PS3? You could even play modded PC levels. Funny how this gen, things go 180 for each.

PlayStation 3 version[edit]
The PlayStation 3 version supports community-made mods that can be uploaded and downloaded to the PS3's HDD or external media, as well as mouse and keyboard inputs. The 1.1 patch was released on March 21, 2008. It adds the ability for players using the North American and European versions to play together, fixes problems with some USB headsets, and displays the lowest pinging servers at top of the server list. Some updates only applied on the North American version, since the PAL version released in March 2008 was already partially updated.[7] The 2.0 patch was released on March 5, 2009, and adds better PC mod support, split screen, smarter AI, forty eight attainable Trophies, server-side improvements, an improved map vote, local multiplayer, and a new user interface. Online and LAN multiplayer for this version was terminated on July 2014, following the shutdown of all GameSpy servers.

Xbox 360 version[edit]
Upon release, the Xbox 360 version had five exclusive maps, two exclusive characters, a two-player split screen mode,[8] and all the downloadable content released by Epic already on the disc. With the release of the PS3 and PC "Titan Upgrade" patch on March 5, these versions offered the formerly exclusive Xbox 360 content, as well as other content.[9] The Xbox 360 version does not support user-generated mods, as additional content has to be verified by Microsoft before being released. It is the only version to support controllers only.

Yeah that is shocking.

MS is just a greedy giant corporation... Oh wait, it's Sony?

My uncle let me borrow this. I've really been looking forward to playing this and have been waiting on a digital sale or a GOTY version. I couldn't wait any longer lol.

Had a couple questions. Should I play the game as is or download some of the mods (XBox One). If it's worth it what are the must have mods? Any info guys thanks a lot.

I was a Fallout 3 junkie that game stole 200+ hours of my life lol.

I'd play the game through first and then do miss. It creates a separate file for your non modded game, so there is no overlap. I loved Fallout 3 too, even though FO4 is good it's no FO3

So I should play the game first regular with no mods?
Up to you. But like Skyrim's mods, if you want to play it with some mods that makes things easier, go the modded way. I also played F3 a ton. But after playing it so much, there is no way I'd play it again with mods. It's Bethesda burnout. The game does saves so that you can play it how you want, but activating or deactivating mods as you want in the mod menu.

This is important as some mods mess up your game. In Skyrim, I couldn't do a soul trap. It turns out one of the mods was messing it up, so I deactivated a bunch, soul trapping worked, then I re-activated the mod. I only needed to do a soul trap once, but that was a pain in the butt.

Some mods also messed with the fast travel. I couldn't fast travel as it either wouldn't let me or the game would crash the dashboard. I deactivated a mod (had to do with some kind of better texture quality mod), and fast travel works fine. Deleted the mod.

So mods can be a pain, so save often.

Playing Bethesda RPGs with any mods deactivates Xbox achievement points. So if you care a lot about that, go vanilla.

I'd go in playing F4 assuming you will only go through the game thoroughly once...... vanilla + achievement pts, or mods + I don't care about achievement pts.

I haven't played F4 with mods yet (maybe down the line when I'm done with Skyrim), but assuming F4 has similar kinds of mods, Skyrim has many mods that make things better without ruining the game:

- Better AI
- Better visuals
- Unlimited carrying capacity (rings that give you 1,000 or 1,000,000 lb capacity)
- Unlimited sprint
- The big unofficial patch
- A cool starting game patch where you get to pick where you start as opposed to starting the game the same way each time "alternate starting life patch"
- Free fan-made extra content
- Open cities. So instead of a big loading screen, the cities gates open and you just walk in and out with no loading screen

F4 probably has mods like this in some kind of fashion. F4 I know also has mods like unlimited ammo. This is a cool mod which I will use when I replay the game (I only finished about 25% of F4's map). In Fallout games the gunplay is so weird compared to FPS shooters, that trying to play it in real time shooting feels off. But with unlimited ammo, you could play it like a twitch shooter instead of always doing VATs to save ammo.

I think I will just start the game as is no mods. I just remember reading there were some mods that made the game better as in graphics, conversation system, and a couple others. I was just wondering if the mods were worth it. I do not mind playing the game as is and working for everything. One of the fun things about Elder Scrolls and Fallout the grind never bothered me as long as the world kept me interested.

Will start the game as soon as I can this week. Thanks guys.

No worries.

The good thing about the mods is that you can add/delete, activate/deactivate mods as you wish. The only caveat is that you have to do this at the game's main screen, and then load your saved game vanilla or modded. You can't do mod adjusting on the fly while you are playing a game.

Props to you if you can refrain from mods! But don't be surprised if you get the itch for a mod like Skyrim's ring of increased carrying capacity! You can plow through as many quests and dungeons as you wish without needing to backtrack to town to sell stuff!

I played with no mods and thought it was great. So can't go wrong with vanilla.

Fallout Shelter coming to Xbox and W10.

Phone version got old quickly but I never played it after that big update last year. Did it improve?

Seemed fun enough. Will probably check it out on X1.

I started the game again, with all the expansions for the first time, and I have to say, the game is running so much better now!

Nika world is Hella fun too!

Anyone tried the pro patch? Supposedly draw distance and framerate improvements.

I blew the town up! Muhahaha!

I was kind of surprised when finishing the main story, for Far harbour, that I had no left over quests for the area.

There were some great character/armour models in the expansions, but I wish the cool looking armour had decent stats.

And now it's time for me to uninstall you Fallout 4! For a year at least!

Now bring on Andromeda!!!!
