  • the 11/11/22 date is "in ink, not pencil" and they're very confident they'd make it, though you can obviously never be absolutely sure.
  • - Starfield "can be played fully" now, but they still have a lot to do, because it's a very very ambitious game.
  • - They work on one main project at a time, with smaller groups working on something else, but as soon as they move onto the game in pre-production, the "full team production" stage lasts just 12-24 months.
  • - Starfield's systems and structure is more similar to Skyrim/The Elder Scrolls, though they borrow some things from Fallout too.
  • - In projects where Todd is "an executive producer" (like Indiana Jones and Fallout 76, for example), he checks in on the team once a week or once a month. When he's a game director, it's a daily job. He is involved in the Indiana Jones game, and MachineGames are doing an amazing job.
  • "I don't see... Look, Fallout's really part of our DNA here. We've worked with other people from time to time – I can't say what's gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do."
    "Again, if I could wave my hand and have [Fallout 5] out – you know, I'd like to find a way to accelerate what we do, but I can't really say today or commit to anything, [like] what's going to happen when."

Todd Howard Confirms Fallout 5 Is Coming After Elder Scrolls 6​

Todd Howard has confirmed to IGN that Fallout 5 will be Bethesda Game Studios' next game after The Elder Scrolls 6, which itself will follow on from 2023's Starfield.

"Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production," he said, "and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well."
