Fallout 76

You can't play offline.

Yeah, I was thinking of the Forza Horizon 4 interview. People were thinking that they couldn't have drivatars anymore with the new online system that they integrated. The developer from Playground confirmed you can choose drivatars or you can choose the online humans.

I got the two mixed up.

I went and pre-ordered on Amazon to get access to the beta. FAQs stated that Xbox will get the beta first.

Have they addressed VATS? I assume with other players engaging you wouldn't be able to bring the world to a grinding halt while you pick which leg to blow off.

VATS is still here, it just doesn't freeze the action.

Pretty cool.

"In the spirit of Fallout 76 and global rebuilding, we’re proud to team up with Habitat for Humanity—a global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the US and in more than 70 countries, to advance the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to call home," Bethesda said in a statement.

"Bethesda will donate 100% of its proceeds, with a minimum donation of $100,000, from sales of the single to Habitat for Humanity to assist in the organization’s goal of transforming lives and communities through affordable housing."

Not feeling the game from what I see. Being 'Online' only probably means no community created mods, so no thanks. never fan of the building part of fallout 4.

One thing that concerns me is how they will handle the servers. Are you going to have a character per server like in say, Conan or Ark? Because I really don't like that personally.

Not true. Mods are coming, just not at launch.
maybe, but the mods will be much more limited. I will be surpirse if they do not want to have some form of MTX for some cosmetic or something

I already received a promotional code from Amazon to use to sign up for the Beta.

Bethesda has revealed through an FAQ that Fallout 76's beta will have a timed exclusive release on Xbox One before later heading to PlayStation 4 and PC. Fallout 76's beta doesn't yet have a release date for any of the three platforms, but Bethesda noted that exact timing will eventually be announced through its Fallout social media channels.

There's only one way for gamers to get into the beta, and that's by preordering Fallout 76 ahead of its November 14 release.

For the record, the cover of "Country Roads" from the trailer will be released sometime in July, with all proceeds benefiting a charity.

I like the trailer. Not sure about the online game part. This always online, every game has to be online future that somebody is trying to push is getting out of hand.

Seems like alot of the big publishers are starting to move away from Steam. Can't really blame them.

Q: IS THE B.E.T.A. GOING TO BE THE FULL GAME AND WILL MY PROGRESS CARRY OVER TO LAUNCH?

A: Our current plan for the B.E.T.A. is it will be the full game and all your progress is saved for launch. We hope you join us!

"The PC version of Fallout 76, for both the B.E.T.A. and the launch, will be available only via Bethesda.net, not on Steam"

Nice! The Vermintide 2 beta was the same, it was nice to have all the progress carry over, and like 6 cheevos pop when I fired up the retail game for the first time.

Yea plenty of complaints about it and promises of not buying the game. lol no matter how hype you are about a game you would just drop it because it's on a different platform? Alright. Glad I don't care about having another launcher or account to maintain.

I agree. I don't get the complaint of "No Steam, No Buy". Maybe because it doesn't effect me.

We’re excited to announce that our B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) will arrive first on Xbox One on Tuesday, October 23, and one week later for PlayStation 4 and PC players on Tuesday, October 30.

During the B.E.T.A. one of our primary goals is to stress test and break the game. As such, the servers will not be running 24/7; instead, they’ll be online during targeted timeframes so we can get as many people as possible playing at the same time. Why? Because that’s the best way to put all our systems to the test and see how they respond.

And we’d like for you to share your own journeys. From the very start of the B.E.T.A., beginning on October 23, you will be free to stream and talk about all your experiences with Fallout 76 with the rest of the world.

This is an exciting new journey for Fallout – and for us! During the B.E.T.A., you will likely see a glorious array of issues; many we know about, and many we don’t. We need your help in getting the game ready for launch and beyond. We think you will love playing the game as much as we do – and your continued feedback is critical to craft the long-term experience over the years to come. For additional details on the B.E.T.A., please see our updated B.E.T.A. FAQ.

As you wait for B.E.T.A. to begin, we will be showcasing much more of the game in the next few weeks, including tips for multiplayer, wasteland survival, character builds & customization and more! Plus gameplay. Lots and lots of gameplay. Keep an eye on the Fallout website and social channels for news and updates about Fallout 76.

The vids that I've seen make the game look like just a co-op Fallout. The game needs epic multiplayer events, maybe vehicles, and fantastic loot in order to catch my attention.

Watching GameSpots stream and I’m digging it. My expectations were pretty low going in though.
