You do realize that one of the watermarks of paid shills is to claim that paid shilling is imagined...
I don't know what that means, but both of my posts were just jokes man.

Well I think it is enormously sh*$$# of Sony to run this astroturf sabotage campaign against Microsoft, then when it starts to go to far, and gives their fans a bad name, Sony just throws all their legitimate fans under the bus.

Sony truly is one of the worst companies in the world. Few companies have been more deserving of bankruptcy than them.

Its pretty sad that a certain group of fanboys would go to TRU and troll. Next thing you know they will attack Sesame Street for being fans of Kinect. They have certainly earned theirselves a punk reputation.

See thats what I am talking about. Sony has this ongoing astroturf campaign, where they are sh%^^(*$ all over their fans. It hurts gaming in general, makes everyone else hate Sony fans, then the Sony fans just sit there and are like: "thank you Sony may I have another".

Sony fans are like the two girls one cup of gaming. Sony is not deserving of their loyalty.

I hope parents in this day and age are aware that Yotube comments are just a battle zone and shouldn't be taken seriously for the most part.

Depends on if your talking bout the same parents that blame all theirs child's problems/wrong doings on video games...

It's not all fanboys that act like that, It's Sony fanboys. It is well known how vile and annoying they are. Destructoid even wrote an article about it.

lol
Maybe it's the fact that Sony was once on top of the mountain in this industry, and the fall from grace has been swift and brutal. The worst thing about being on top is the fall to the bottom, and maybe the transition from PS2 dominance to PS3 heel-dragging has had a damaging effect on the fanboy psyche, leaving them vulnerable and insecure.

I avoid reading game comments on youtube, gamefaqs, gametrailers and ign. Those dumb sony and microsoft zombies aren't worth sparing fifteen minutes.

Sony being so dominant probably did breed a more intense form of fanboy. Been saying for a while I think that's why there's such a strong MS backlash this year... people miss how simple it was when their console of choice absolutely dominated in sales.. made them feel like they were part of something powerful and popular. 360 changed the game.. Sony got snarky which didn't help (Kevin Butler, etc.)..

MS fanboys would be just as bad if Microsoft had been so dominant in the past.

Being an assholish fanboy is a personality/character issue. It has nothing to do with the company. The idea that Sony is paying people to be fanboys is laughable.

See, whenever I read these kinds of things, I never think "Oh, sub-culture X is scum". Rather, I tend to rationalize that HUMANS, in general, are scum.

This type of behaviour doesn't reflect negatively on 'gamers' to me; it reflects negatively on our species and society in general, as it's all too common ANY and EVERYwhere you look, and not unique to any specific sub-section of the community at large.

I hate to be negative or misanthropic, but there you go. I don't mean to make it sound like I truly think ALL humans are scum, but I don't think it's fair to pigeonhole a particular group like this when it's all just human nature in the end.

Bottom line is, PEOPLE need to stop acting like douches, not only gamers, or just Sony fans, or any other categorization you'd like to label.

Being an assholish fanboy is a personality/character issue. It has nothing to do with the company.

Exactly.

I posted about this at NeoGaf before I got banned. I suggested that, based on the way the PS community was acting (tanking the like bars of every Xbox One YouTube video), maybe more of the adults would be on Xbox One.

After that, I pretty much got hive minded, three pages of gifs and lawls, they put my post on "NeoGaf $hit posts twitter" (their apparent "wall of shame" type thing).

The irony huh?

(I didn't necessarily get banned for that. I got banned when I took up for religion in an anti-religion thread. Reason: "Thread Whining".)

your right, acting like an assh*le is a personality thing with a person. SONY had nothing to do with them they are just a company that trying to do what is right, but the people that follow them are really bad. Not all of them just most.

Dont get me wrong XBOX have their fair share as well but not as bad as SONY.

All companies astroturf, which is unfortunate.

Yes, but Microsoft doesn't blame its fans the way Sony does when their marketing efforts backfire. Sony just systematically throws its fans under the bus.

I had to laugh when the article stated "the playstation community has generally been considered quiet compared to it's competition" da fuq?

Yeah, I know what astroturfing is. Do you realize the definition you cited undermines what you're alleging? "...give the appearance of it coming from a disinterested, grassroots participant. Astroturfing is intended to give the statements the credibility of an independent entity." Fanboys are anything but disinterested, and they are anything but credible. As others have pointed out, fanboys (especially the ugly variety we're talking about here) do not help the company at all, in fact, they make the company look worse by association.

If you analyze it correctly, they have been pretty quiet. I mean, since when does a random comment in the internet even make a sound?

No, it's not exclusive to Sony fanboys, video game fanboys or homemade equine erotica fanboys. Some people are just worthless balls of crap, and whatever flag they happen to rally around shouldn't be tarnished by their individual worthlessness.
