Far Cry 6

Looks like far cry 6 has some very interesting home made guns.

i enjoyed far cry 5. but after the XX enemy base or whatever they were call, I get tired and do the minimal to get to the next stage.

also the game get really easy once you realized the Machine guns do pretty much everything better than other weapon. High damage, pretty much no need reload, good at near and mid range. Just have a sniper for long range and you are set.

Aahh sniper rifles, or as I call them, the coward's bow, ;). You gotta invent your own ways to have fun in these games. Doing the minimum is boring, you gotta say I'm gonna take this outpost over using only takedowns, or only throwing shovels.

Didn’t enjoy 5 as much as 3 and 4. Hope this one is a return to form.

I'm with you, 5 didn't hit the same for me either, I really wanted to like it to because I actually live in Montana. What about it did you not like as much? I know the forced capture thing was a big turn off for many, the conditioning house was a big misstep for others. Basically the way the game would progress you against your will seems like the biggest point of contention and I agree it was over done for sure. I mean if one of the antagonists did it once or twice that'd be one thing, but it was something that happened like 3x in each region. For me one of the lamest parts is the AI companion system taking center stage on the whole design of the game. Just not a fan of pointing and directing fairly dumb AI companions to get the kills for you.

I think in FC5 I just solo'd everything and skipped the whole AI teammate thing which never seemed to work right anyway. Give me a couple of shovels and I'll take down a base of 20 armed guards no problem.

Far cry 5 has an awful timed driving sequence in the game that als to make me want to throw my controller at my TV. Took me like so many tries to beat it.

there is also a intoxicated time sequence that keep repeating, each time a little longer that is god awful. Time sequence sucks balls, why do developers keep pushing us this BS.

the worst however is one side mission where to keep to blow up some very specific trucks. I literally flew the chopper for 1-2 hours hunting these randomly rare trucks.

i hope far cry 6 has less of these.

I enjoyed it don’t get me wrong. But it didn’t have the “lost in a foreign wilderness” feel of the previous ones, and the takedowns just were not satisfying at all. Most of it came down to story and setting, though.

4 is probably my favorite, not sure if I am in the minority on that but I look back on my time with that game very fondly

4 was incredible. Pagan Min was an awesome villain, but you better believe I didn't hesitate to put a bullet in his head at the end of the game when given the chance.

I think I let him go. Lol. Hoping 6 brings back that feeling though. And I hope it isnt too urban.

Oh I would love a more urban setting. Have the bases be buildings you have to stealth through or just go in guns blazing, figuring out different avenues of approach instead of driving up to a collection of shipping crates in the middle of nowhere.

That sounds neat . 6 has a capital city so I’m guessing there will be something similar. I just hope the wilderness is expansive too

Constantly being abducted over and over and over caused me to stop playing entirely. That was beyond infuriating.

Far Cry 4 is actually my favorite as well. Got a lot of flack for just being "Far Cry 3.5", but that is essentially what makes me like it more than 3, the fact that they just took what was great about 3 and improved everything. 4 had a lot of over looked quality of life improvements, like quick crafting, double pelts on bow killing animals etc.

Bringing in an urban element could be interesting. I agree that I hope it doesn't overwhelm the map, I mean the city should only encompass like 1/8th of the map, but I'm pretty sure I read they also claim this is the largest map to date, so hopefully there is plenty of wilderness and variety within that.

The abductions and forced captures were nearly universally hated, can't imagine they'd try to bring those back.

I haven't even opened New Dawn yet, I hope there's no abductions or other annoying stuff like that in the game.

Oh there's definitely other annoying stuff in it, just wait til the first time you try to kill a level 3 enemy with a level 1 weapon.

I love this series, but ubi should go back to the drawing board like they did AC. I honestly thought 5 would've done that but all they really did was make side missions a tiny bit better with the treasure huntey missions.

It might serve them well to do this before they have a unity like situation with the series. At the same time, it comes with the risk of turning it into a series I no longer care for much, just like what happened with AC. I played Origins and while it was decent enough... I don't anticipate every AC like I used to pre-Unity (though honestly 3 sort of diminished some of that anticipation as well). I dunno, I'd definitely like to see them shake up the formula they've cultivated for Far Cry, but I wouldn't want them to change it so much that it becomes something else entirely. I guess so long as they kept it an open world FPS with a focus on exotic rural environments we'd be good... but I definitely want bow and arrows & takedowns to stay forever!

I think giving people multiple ways to play is key. Allow one player to use stealth and takedowns, while another goes in guns blazing. That's what made the older games so fun, two people could play the same mission completely differently.

The tricky part is if you mess with the formula too much, you break it. You can't mess with the core FPS mechanics much.

AC got better because they greatly refined the combat (combat was a chore on older games but now is fun). FC already has that part nailed down well.

Man I loved all the treasure hunts in both 5 and New Dawn. Some of my favorite content. Base building in New Dawn was great too.

I really liked most of it...especially the AI companions or helper people. I just hated the abduction nonsense.

I’m not the biggest story person but when it’s so bad it ruins any sense of immersion then that’s Far Cry 5 for me.

I never got the hate for FC5's story, yeah it was a cult and it was multi-racial, no matter who the enemy was here people in this country were going to take offense. Lunatics are the best ones to go up against, they are crazy and you can never say they are truly representative of any one group.
