Nice. I wonder what the next story will be.
Twentieth Century Fox is reportedly moving forward on a sequel to The Wolverine and is currently negotiating with director James Mangold and Hugh Jackman to put the wheels of production in motion.
According to the report on Deadline Mangold, who directed this summer's solo outing, is "making a deal to write the treatment", with veteran X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner attached to produce. The Wolverine was Hugh Jackman's second solo outing as the adamantium-clawed mutant and it fared much better critically than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, scoring an 8.5 review from IGN's Scott Collura.
It went on to gross $413m at the box office globally, making it the second highest grossing X-Men film yet behind X-Men: The Last Stand, so a sequel looks like a safe bet for Fox. If Hugh Jackman does return as Wolverine it will be the eighth time the Aussie actor has donned the claws.
