Favorite Movie Scenes.....

My screen name is taken from my all time favorite movie which is massively surreal. I like it because I think it was also way ahead of it's time commenting on media technology. I also enjoy the great direction style and synth score by Howard Shore.

Spoiler Warning: these are a few clips put together and the last clip is the ending of the movie

Death to Videodrome,.... Long Live The New Flesh

Okay not quite so bizarre, this clip is from COSMOPOLIS. It's a weird dialogue scene that's almost like weird meditation on sociology or the economy as their Limo crawls through an Occupy Wall St. like riot.

I dunno, something about it is really eerie and makes me think about the world coming to terms with money, human nature, and constantly advancing technology.

This is a powerful scene from a very strange film I've thought of watching again called The Signal. I would really love to see this director get his hands on a comic book property with the way these characters have their lives and bodies changed after what seems to be an experiment conducted by an alien intelligence. It just impresses me how this scene takes it's time in slowly unleashing the power this person was given but never asked for. I also really like the use of color saturation and the quiet music playing while pure havok is happening.

The 3 main characters have had pieces of their bodies removed and replaced with more advanced versions. Here we mainly see the computer guy who can no longer type with these hands, but I think the technology takes his emotion as fuel and he can then punch through cement.

Emotion is The Signal.

Clip from BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW the first movie from Panos Cosmatos who has the new film Mandy releasing soon.

This is a slow haunting Kubrick-like Retro-Future film with some excellent Synth in the film score.

People who make fighting games should watch stuff like this to get ideas for Super Moves or Dramatic Finishers. Especially games like MORTAL KOMBAT that have a strange lack of dramatic lighting or color.

This scene is like a sudden shift into a Boxing Apocalypse raining down from Sugar Ray.

Kinda badass.... THE IMMORTALS

Gods of Olympus battle with The Titans

Also, all Titans must die in dramatic slow-mo Doom-esque Glory Kills.

Makes me wish the THOR movies could been just a bit more like this with Thor and the Warriors 3 fighting.

So many scenes I love hard to just pick a couple. Since Football season has started and is on my mind I love the “inches speech” in Any Given Sunday.

This is a very strange unnerving character lurking about in the David Lynch film LOST HIGHWAY only listed in the credits as Myster Man.

I saw this movie randomly a long, long time ago when some people were over with random video tapes from the rental store. Yes, VHS tapes lol.

Anyway, the beginning of Lost Highway was slow and weird. Most people lost interest and went off to do something else. For some reason, I stuck with it, possibly because of the unusual music choices that were new to me like Rammstein which was still a new band at the time or the intro music from David Bowie.

Of course, after people wandered off, this scene came up and the movie had my attention it was so unusual and this character didn't fit any normal mold of story telling. I was sucked into surreal cinema with my first David Lynch movie.

Okay one more from Lost Highway from a very different scene where Rober Loggia puts a tailgater in their place with a roadside beating.

OMG this is so weirdly satisfying to watch.
