Game has entered pre production with half of the main development team assisting. The rest of the team are still polishing Rebirth before it's release. Some of it's music has already been recorded and is currently awaiting mastering at a external studio in Japan - a big note to mention is 'One Winged Angel' has been recorded and listed multiple times, potentially this means there are different versions of the song that will be used in Reborn.

All game scenarios are complete. The game will obviously be building from the tech used in Remake and Reborn. No release date was stated, but a tentative schedule for Q4 2025 was mentioned. All information above has been taken from an anonymous English speaking Square Enix employee who has confirmed they currently work in the Narrative Design department.

Kitase said that Rebirth wil have unexpected twists that will lead into the third game which is the climax of the trilogy

I'm about 8 hrs in, still on Chapter 2. I have a feeling I'll be in the first area (The Grasslands) for some time. There's just so much fun stuff to do.

FF16 is a good game, but it streamlined too much. I'm happy to see the complexity, depth and customization here in FF7 Rebirth. I just found out I can map certain skills to work under specific conditions. Like Cloud's Braver ability, it gets a bonus to damage if done in the air. So I mapped that skill to only activate in the air. Its the same for Aerith, she's the healer and I don't want to always have to take direct control of her. Just add in the Materia "Auto-Cast" and link it to Healing ability and she does her job without much input from me.

The same can be done with all other characters. I'll be making Barret into my Tank and Tifa the DPS Queen she's always been.....as soon as I acquire the Materia needed. I haven't decided which role Red 13 will take, he seems to have damage and mitigation skills so I need to play around with him more.

Those Synergy Skills are awesome. Love how they evolved the combat system to add in this tag-team element.

Wrong thread but love that you love the game 😛

That seems like a long ways away.

You think it being split up into its own trilogy may have hurt it?

It dose seem like a good way to gauge players for what could change for this one.

Hard to say. The first released at the tail end of the PS4 generation with over 100 million userbase so obviously numbers would be higher. Rebirth released to a smaller relative userbase so many of those users may still be waiting to upgrade to the PS5 too.

However it's good news if it's true that Square Enix is already developing part 3 now regardless.
