Surprised this wasn't posted yet. Looks good!

Supposedly new Famitsu interview for the game:

Here's a translation of everything he said. If true, demo in March?!

- Final Fantasy XV's director has been changed, now the game is in Tabata's hands. Nomura will work only on KHIII
- The trailer's not extended, but the scenes showed confirm it's about the upcoming demo
- Tabata (I suppose): "There are great expectations for this game, and we're not forgetting this saga's roots while creating new elements (see the final part of the trailer)"
- The combat system starts as "action" a-la-KH, lots of things changed since then but the action nature is still there. Not a classic JRPG, for sure
- Episode Ducsae is confirmed for March 2015, included in Type 0 HD
- Ducsae is a region in FFXV's world
- The demo will be about a period not too far from beginning of the game, but no spoilers, don't worry, Tabata reassures. It's all to let the player comprehend the new combat system
- The demo's length is far bigger than normal, with 3-4 hours and possibily of playing exploartion and dungeon phases
- No classic Final Boss in the demo, but the final impression will be incredible for FF fans
- There will be many exploration phases, the player can freely drive the car or let the CPU drive it through Auto Drive, so he can see see secret zones
- Tabata: "The combat system's modifications have been applied correctly, and the development team feels the game much more like a "Final Fantasy" since it became a main title
- ...but this doesn't mean the end of the action nature! The combat system's basis will stay that, but it won't be confusionary. We want the player to control fully what happens
- There will be many new elements, and most I can't talk about. But I can tell you Noctis can dodge enemies by keeping pressing the "Block" button; there will be also Auto-Attack and the Warp button
- Every character/ally will fight with his/her own style; by knowing how Noctis can perform different combos with them the player will be encouraged to search for them on the combat field in order to make a turning point in the battle. In specific moments, only a specific ally can be used against specific enemies, and the command will be visible only near the enemies. This is what makes our work on FFXV magic. We're very satisfied"
- Tabata praises next gen's power, by underlining the beauty of the real-time day/night cycle
- Tabata: "Open world? Yes, FFXV will have a massive world to explore, all thanks to next gen consoles
- The demo is 70-80% complete. March's version will be better.
- We've worked hard on how each character is characterised. Everyone's going to have his own character (laughs...). You'll love them all.
- Prompto is the typical exuberant boy full of vitality, while Noctis the one who "knows", he's not the once-reserved-lonely boy anymore
- Aesthetically, Ignis has been changed too
- SE would like to expand the FFXV's universe on PSVita and mobile phones, i.e. it would be great to connect outside of the TV screen
- The story retrace the Fabula Nova Crystallis' myth from FFXIII and Type 0, in a different world. The plot is simple: the boys have to get back a crystal stolen by an enemy country
- During the interview, some names were mentioned, like King Aegis, Emperor Aldercapt, Luna, the city of Altissia...any news on the matter? Tabata: "No comment".
- Not even Luna? Tabata's answer: "The others are no comment, while Luna is...tabula rasa" (laughs...), then "I'd love telling you more, but right now I can't, still she'll be a key character liek Notcis!"
- New details on plot and characters in future events, Jump Festa 2015 especially.

this is the direction that final fantasy needs to go, this looks f***ing awesome

.....that combat system, open world, fluid animation.....i haven't been this interested in a final fantasy since 7.

I'm still wondering how the gameplay with be. They should take a tip from Last Story and Witcher on real-time RPG strategy. And I hope its open world with lively, interactive towns. If they have the right vision for this game, it could be on par with what Witcher 3 is delivering. But I'm not holding my breath.

The character designs are not appealing to me. The real time combat looked interesting, but I do not think I will get past the boy band look.

Production value is thru the roof and yet I wouldnt be caught dead playing this. When I think of fantasy world building, riding around with a bunch of emo J-pop boy band members in a convertible just doesnt quite fit the bill for me. To Japanese audiences this will look like the sh1t, but I need some actual fantasy in my fantasy game...

Sh1t, these guys make me miss Squall and the other retards from FF8 and I f***ing HATED that game...

I think it looks pretty good. Need to see more than this to know if I'm really interested though.

Reasons are stacking up now to get a PS4 to go along with my PC. This looks amazing IMO. Nice blend between cinematics and gameplay.

Lighting and shaders baby! That is a substantial upgrade :)

This may just be the first FF game I play since 7. I've got to echo the aversion to the J-pop designs, but I don't mind a break from traditional fantasy.

Nice trailer..I like the graphics but they really should've worked on those character designs. It really does look like a boy band on a roadtrip to their next concert.

The PS4 version of the girl is pre-rendered, just to point out. But any bets on whether the demo will be delayed? :snicker

You think so? I don't know. You can see the aliasing on the chair and her hair, it might be in-game cutscene.

I see it now that you mention it. The polys and such. That's unreal the visual leap we got.

Not bad. 13 was ok and I tried 13-2 but quit after a few hours as I was just bored of that game and characters. I don't mind turn-based but I'm liking the new combat.

Around the 22 minute mark is when the PS4 demo of Final Fantasy XV demo is shown. Good stuff.

Holy mother of Jamie, true next gen tech.

So realistic, ........I mean blue is a more realistic color for eyes than purple right.

Can't wait until those weird panty sniffing Japanese games have this quality graphics. Then again why wait?

The gameplay still looks very shallow from what has been shown. No magic points, spells big and small are cast immediately with no wait, every attack looks the same, no signs of more complex spells, and so on. I feel like this is more of a beat-em'-up Kingdom Hearts games and not a real Final Fantasy game.

You know with DD games now I've no idea why those type of games don't come to the US market. Hell all they got to do is have have English text and they can sell them no issue. I bet you there is a market for them.

Now on this game man the boys and looks don't do it for me. I hope the console market picks up in Japan as I can't see the look of them guys looks going over in the western market but I guess you will always have the FF fans to buy it. They do look like a Japanese boy. The game did look good however.

Wow, graphics are amazing. Also, not sure how I feel about anime tropes being used in a serious and near photorealistic setting. Actually, I'm not sure if it is, but the part where the girl tugs and grabs on her necklace just comes across so awkward. Not because of the animation or anything, that's awesome, but from a performance point of view, it just seems so garish.

On FF XVā€™s Progress:
In terms of development, about 50 to 60 percent of the game is complete. We kind of started from the beginning of the game, so the first part is more complete than the others.

On The Open World:
Not literally everything is open world, but it is pretty vast, and you will be able to freely explore. You may have noticed that theyā€™re traveling in a car. You can technically walk around the world, but we recommend using a vehicle, and itā€™ll be a journey driving through the continent.

On The Final Fantasy Icons:
In creating a new game, if you throw in familiar elements just to please the fans, it gives an impression that weā€™re very shallow. Iā€™m very careful that. With each element of a familiar Final Fantasy icon that I include, I have to think about how it applies to the setting of the particular Final Fantasy numbered title, and make sure that itā€™s there because itā€™s necessary. In Episode Duscae, there is a sort of surprise element incorporated toward the end.

On Release Dates:
During the ā€œVersus eraā€ ā€“ though it might be weird to refer to it that way ā€“ we werenā€™t able to reveal any information on release timing because that was a project in which we had to overcome so many different problems that arose. Unfortunately, while we were trying to work through the issues, the timing never matched. But about two years ago, when I officially joined the project, we did a pretty major directional change when we decided not to go with the previous generation. I also had to talk with Nomura-san about the direction FF XV is going to take. Unfortunately, itā€™s still going to take a while, but Iā€™m hoping people will reset their timers from when I joined the team and restart the count from there.

On Fan Reaction To XV:
We canā€™t gauge very well quite yet. Now that we have decided to put out a demo version, Iā€™m hoping that the fans will come back to us with their input and feed us the passion that everybody has and let us know how they feel about the game.
