I think there's a level of poetry in this opening paragraph of IGN's review that is rarely seen. The chap obviously loves games, especially FF. Kudos to them.Final Fantasy XV opens, quite fittingly, with a splash screen that reads: “A Final Fantasy for fans and first-timers.” Having played every numbered entry since the first, I can see both reverence for the old and a courtship of the new in this latest chapter. I’d like to say it’s an elegant fusion of the two, but in reality it’s more of a duality - a conflict that reaches into nearly every aspect of Final Fantasy XV. In the end, its beauty, charm, and commitment to the bond between its four protagonists keep it glued together, even when some of its design and story elements threaten to pull it apart.
Patch download times, give you the rare opportunity to reflect on life.OMG this patch.... its going so slow.
Cool commercial. That 80's vibe.
Never got into Final Fantasy. Don't know whether it was the characters, gameworld or gameplay but tried and didn't feel it.
Might give the new title a bash though but for me, titles like skyrim, witcher 3 and fallout 4 are much more appealing. TBH don't think I've played a JRPG that I really enjoyed. I love Anime though so I do like the style etc but just never felt what the hype was surrounding Japanese RPG's.
I felt that way with Shen Mue. I do not understand that series at all...I'm in the same boat as you. Tried it but never sunk myself into any of the games. The Conan bit is sort of how I feel about the series although the mundane tasks can be somewhat humorous without intention which in itself can be amusing. I've felt this way about most Japanese-style games in how they translate into Western culture. Hatoful Boyfriend is the last one I played and that about sums it up.
haha similar thing happened to me, went to watch a trailer for FF and the commercial was the same trailer I wanted to watch lolThat awkward moment when you watch a FFXV commercial when trying to watch a FFXV commercial on YouTube...
Man I love this game
So it's fun? I'm really considering this but I've been a little thrown about impressions from the later parts of the game where it seems to get corridor based.
