Official Thread Final Fantasy XV

...and that deserves the award for most depressing FF ending.

I have a feeling that the forthcoming dlc will piss me off.

There are too many gaps in the story that seem deliberately manufactured to sell the dlc...

Heard they patched the game and changed the story? Something about chapter 13 was awful and whatever. Well, glad i didn't start it. Lots of people at GAF just quit until it was updated.

What? They really patched the game to change an entire chapter ?

Omg. I'm tripping on iPad. I can type with my iPad. Also I can't get this game because the magic and gui suck. That original game for the ps3 looked better. I'll play the fixed version with FFXV Episode 2 or get this game at big discount

Ok so im starting chapter 2 having played 2.5 hours so far.
Please tell me this boring AF on rails RPG gets alot better. Not liking it at all so far.

I found there to be too many fetch quests but the monster hunts were fun and the dungeons can be challenging. Searching out for Royal Arms was addicting. Traveling the world is an on-rails affair but you can customize the Regalia for off-road which puts you in direct control for more freedom of movement or you can rent a chocobo which was my favorite way to travel.

There’s a lot more to combat than you might think. You’ll quickly see how important positioning is for example if you strike from the rear or dodge and follow with a parry and you’ll perform a Link Strike with a teammate. And don’t forget to use Libra to scan for enemy weaknesses and if things are too hectic you can choose Wait Mode which pauses the action allowing you to plan your next move.

They did a great job of the social interaction with your Sworn Brothers which made (at least for me) traveling around with the world much more enjoyable, the systems in place like having to rest to accumulate XP or having to eat to get a stat boost feel natural and work well within how this game is structured. I never did finish this game because I wore myself out grinding for AP to unlock more skills. I was having a lot of fun and hope to go back to this game soon since there is a lot I didn’t do and a lot of DLC.

I was playing on the PS4 Pro and the game is gorgeous but not without some technical issues like some serious framerate issues at certain points of the game. There was no point where I felt it was unplayable though. I think in the end you have to be a fan of this sort of over the top game. It’s a shame that if you care at all about the story you’ll have to watch the Kingsglave movie and Brotherhood series. And even after I did that I was still lost on certain parts of the story but the world and gameplay are really well done. Give it a few more hours and see if it clicks for you.

This game is seriously awful. It’s like they crossbred a boy band music video with a tap to win phone game. Press X. Press B. Talk about hair styles and feelings. What the actual f*** is this? What happened to Final Fantasy?

man bought this while on offer to binge during holidays, should have read this thread before buying lol alot of negativity

Bahahaha!

I loved that about the game!

But yeah, definitely added some tackyness to the game. I'm not a big fan of it as a part of the FF world, and I doubt I will like FF7 Remake either.

I couldn't even finish the tutorial area. Its rarely I regret buying any game but I 100% regret buying this. It's the worst thing I've played in years and couldn't possibly be further than Final Fantasy if they tried.

Were the female characters over 17 and conservatively dressed?

I got the game on PS4 when it first released and still haven't finished it. I think I got distracted by other games and never came back to it. What I played wasn't terrible but it just didn't hold my attention at the time. As to why I haven't gone back to it, besides my massive backlog of other games, I don't know. Part of it is other JRPGs have improved massively ( localization and production) and seem to be more in line to my taste. The Tales of Series, Persona, Legend of Heroes series and Ys series have been more enjoyable to me than the last 4 Final fantasy's. And with that said, I could be burnt out on the whole " Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy " mythos that Square enix has been pushing since 2009.
