Finally a Wii owner, what now?

The Pro controller is nice for games that don't require the GamePad, such as Super Smash Bros. As for games I've only played a few but I enjoyed the following:

Super Smash Bros
Mario Kart 8
Super Mario Bros U (old fashioned 2D Mario)
Zelda Wind Waker HD although depending on how long you want to wait a new one is out next year.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

Enjoy the hell out of 3D World, the best 3D Mario plat former besides the Galaxy games.

Now? Now you snub your nose at the plebeians who believe in graphics over matter and cannot understand your genius. Soon you will find retro gaming far more interesting and wonder why everybody else thinks talking in games is such a good idea. Welcome to the establishment amice, let the ruffians fight over our squandarings, you belong to the elite now. After all those simpletons still think voice chat in games is a good thing during gameplay, but you have not lived until a game of Mario Kart where you cannot hear any hate speech whatsoever, it is just.... delightful. :D

But all kidding aside:
The Wonderful 101 is a must have if you are into tough gaming and classic pop culture references, it's a roller coaster ride of sheer awesome.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze GET IT! ;) The coop alone is a blast, and singe player the game is brilliant as well.
Mario Kart 8, really you'll thank yourself later that you got it ;).
The New Super Mario U if you are into Mario 2D gameplay.
Bayonetta 2.
The legend of Zelda: the WindWaker HD, especially if you haven't played the original, the game is awesome and gets far to much hate.
Hyrule Warriors, Entertaining and fun to play.
Super Smash Bros Wii U


And that's on the top of my head, I'm certain there are a lot more titles that are more than worthy of your attention :).

Welcome to the club ! So many good games but what guys/gals have listed above is a pretty good list to start with and dont forget the WiiU can play Wii games :)

Only console with Backwards compatibility this Gen, and it is bloody awesome :).
 
Get Captain Toad. I think that game looks really interesting.

Game is a lot of fun, although short. I'm close to the end I believe after doing a one run through all the levels and will probably come out around 10 hours. The beauty of these types of games (also Mario, DKC, etc) is you put them away for a while and then have at them again in a few months.

Not that bad. Once you beat a level there is a bonus objective and some of those are tricky, but for the most part the three diamonds you collect in addition to the gold star to end a level are pretty simple.
 
Ok, grabbed 2 refurb Wii plus controllers from Nintendo.com for $50 and Just Dance for $19.99 at Amazon (a quick question can you price match and use the 20% of at Best Buy for being a GCU member?).

I will be getting Mario Kart with GCU discount tomorrow unless anyone knows of Mario Kart being on sale for under $59.99?
 
Now what? Now you sit back and enjoy the very best first party games the industry has to offer. Congrats on the purchase. The Wii U is amazing.

Trying to think back to CAG forums in regards to the price match. I want to say they will but not sure. I'd go with MK with the GCU discount because I doubt you will find a better deal.
 
You need to get an eShop card, download Pikmin 3 and play the best game on the system.

It's a little hard to find the physical copy of the game.
