First ever image of a black hole, from Event Horizon telescope, to be released tomorrow.

Already been there, but thanks.

Did this really need an announcement? Not a good picture.

Plus, we all know blakholes are square.

It’s not a real pic in the sense of pulling out your phone and click....it’s really an image of radio waves being emitted and spewing out those colours (radiation) from said black hole 🕳 🎊 only here they used several telescopes from around the world to do so

Still don't.
We absolutely do. We know that any light that enters the hole is absorbed in some fashion by the force that compromises the inner portion of a black hole. Remember, this is the very first photo. It's monumental. Let's not forget the fist photo of Pluto. While archaic, it was monumental.

Something about how this is described makes me think of lower scale objects. Sort of how Atoms have an 'Electron Cloud', this small speck is surrounded by crushed or stretched light.

It would be weird if a Black hole is a quantum object

This is a computer model of a Hydrogen Atom:

I thought this was a really cool announcement.

I love the scene in Interstellar when they’re traveling near the black Hole it looks amazing.
