Wonder if some of the rumored “delayed dev issues” could have something to deal with all the new tech from the new engine. Maybe they’re trying to implement new tech in the older/current rendition of the engine, like global illumination with raytracing. Since they’ve been able to pull off raytracing in the older engine, but only in forza vista (was it in the replays too?).

I still think they’re better off with the forza tech engine over the rumored “switching to unreal”. I don’t think there’s been an open world game that uses unreal as what many believe and hope for. Unless maybe it’s like gears 5 or the last two GOW.

I have a feeling it could be down to engine optimization for Series S and Series X. You also just have to space these games out a little, so if a team is saying they need more time you might as well give it to them since the first part of the year is packed.

I just realize that says "lightning" and not "lighting"... stupid autocorrect 🙄

Anyway, love a lot of the new graphics, but the lighting still lacks that photo real quality that other games manage. Still looks like an updated version of their old model

Hmmm, well their lighting is less stylized when compared to gt. Kaz Yamauchi comes from film, and has gone on record that it’s not about making it look real but make it look cool.

Forza always looked more cartoony to me. Not sure if that is because of the colours or lighting tbh.

Not necessarily a bad thing though.
I think with four they added more colour, like turned up the saturation a few clicks. Five or was it six, the one with the ford gt, they balanced it out a bit. As for the last two, I haven’t played them so I dono 😆

That's how I've always felt Forza looked like. As a huge GT fan, it's always thrown me off.

Its because visuals were never important and played a backseat to physics and and driving experience. Unlike GT, which has always been graphics first. Hence the terrible audio GT has and why its physics engine is still bested by a last gen launch Forza.

T10 do seem to be putting more emphasis on visuals this time, though.

Editor's Note (March 2, 2023): We've updated this blog to remove mentions of some cars that will not be available in the base Forza Motorsport game. We'll share more in the future when those vehicles will be coming to Forza Motorsport and how they can be obtained. We apologize for any confusion.
