You made a mistake. The Witness is coming to X1 as well.

Question:When are these games coming... Deep Down, Hot Shots Golf, SF V, and Gran Turismo 7.

Good point Menace, you may as well add Halo 8 and Gears of War 6 to the Xbox list if you are going to count those far distant PS4 titles, lol.

I believe The PS brand has the most variety in their library, but when will ps4 see it? MS could have the same or better in the oven if we are talking about the future anything is possible then. Ps4 could have a slightly less varied offering from last gen, MS has a better variety from 360 and things change.

Presently though...

Exclusive racers

One thing MS is destroying PS with is racers, DC is a decent game after weeks of patching, still suffers from terrible AI, no replay, still limited online structure(but working), customization is very limited. Most of those being strengths of the other exclusives racers on X1, especially AI.

XB1 has FH2 and F5, both very solid racers with a choice of sim or arcade. Not only that, xb1 can expect to get a good to great Forza game every year, 2 years at the most altering between Horizon and the sim series. Meanwhile GT7 leaves us guessing when will we get an average game, could be next year or 2016+, no one knows, and even IF they announce it, no one trusts that date or the quality.

Online Shooters

Sony hasn't had a solid shooter title with a strong online community, they've tried for years with various iterations and brands and they've never came close to the success overall of Halo. I'd argue Gears outsold ps3 shooters in a straight up comparison. However Halo 3,Reach, and Halo 4 outsold every exclusive shooter on ps3 combined last gen, yes even the 3rd person shooters, throw in UC if need be.

So yeah even if Sony brings the bacon ps3 style, they still have a lot of work to do, but let's be real, they aren't close to that level yet.

Uncharted and TLOU are popular online though. Do they not count because their single players get all the attention?

Do they need a big exclusive shooter with so many 3rd party shooters? Wouldn't you rather their 1st party lineup to be geared to more variety?

That's my whole point, they are popular, I'm talking about the actual success online. They don't have anything on the level of halo, even combined. MS had no UC, they had Alan Wake, but lets be real that's no UC.

MS needs an adventure game, TR might fill the void for a little while.

Halo doesn't even have the success online that Halo had. Its popularity isn't the same anymore. If that is the bar then they are both failing to meet it.

We'll see going forward, no way to tell how halo 5 will be received. Even at its lowest point halo was more popular though.

I would assume but I have no idea how popular any of the PS games are online. We are just playing a guessing game with a pinch of goal post moving thrown in.

I remember your love for bungie halo on txb smilebit, it was legendary.

Btw have you seen halo 5 gameplay? Looks to be insanely fast.

Halo isn't call of duty. It looks nothing like Halo 2 or Halo 3 multiplayer, which had the best multiplayer in the series.

It's just an homogenization of current shooters. Unless something drastic changes, I think I'll pass.

Shocker smilebit.

Overall game line up is already looking insane for 2015 .

Bloodbourne
Mortal Kombat X
The division
Witcher 3
Rise of the Tomb Raider
No mans Sky
The Witness
Below
Batman: Arkham Knight
Project Cars
Rainbow Six Siege
Star Wars Battlefront
Ori & the Blind Forest

It is going to be an uber-expensive year.

There's enough multiplatform shooters out there to quench the thirst for those gamers: Destiny, COD: AW are two of the biggest ones out there right now. But I agree: Sony needs to make a great shooter game. Resistance and Killzone were good but didn't get the success of Halo.

Btw Who's playing Halo: MCC right now? Oh wait... matchmaking still isn't working for some. Also a few million for both Destiny and COD: AW > the 600k Halo players (for those who can even get a match in).

It was completely broken, I'm not surprised, but that wasn't 343i's work, they contracted it out while their working on halo 5, which I really like the direction of. I can't remember the last time a game had a beta ready a year away from release.

It's time for the official list to present itself. The following lineups contain mid tier to AAA console exclusives between the PS4 and Xbox One. I did not include traditional indie titles because, quite frankly, they're different weight classes in favor of Sony's PS4. I've also tried to rank them in order of hype/quality. It's not the most scientific way to present such information but it should help when comparing lists.

1) Uncharted 4 ___________________Halo 5: Guardians
2) Bloodborne ___________________Tomb Raider
3) The Order 1886 ________________Quantum Break
4) Street Fighter 5 ________________ Crackdown 3
5) No Man's Sky _________________ Fable Legends
6) Persona 5 ____________________ Phantom Dust 2
7) Deep Down ___________________ Scalebound
8. MLB The Show ________________ Superhot
9) Ratchet and Clank Reeboot ________ Massive Chalice
10) Teraway Unfolded ______________ Fortified
11) The Witness
12) Drawn to Death
13) Suda 51's Let it Die
14) Until Dawn
15) The Tomorrow Children
16) Everyone's Gone to the Rapture
17) Rime
18. Ninja Theory's HellBlade
19) Planetside 2
20) HZN1
21) Day Z: Console Edition

It's also important to note that I think it's safe to say that a few titles on both sides could ship in 2016. The candidates would include Ninja Theory's Hellblade, Suda 51's Let it Die, Drawn to Death and on the Xbox side, Scalebound, Phantom Dust 2, and Crackdown 3. This fact would be detrimental to MS as they don't really have room to miss games in 2015. What do you think? Who has the better lineup?

I was surprised. Halo is a key franchise of MS's and to put it out like that hit some of the fans pretty hard. Some were even getting a refund for the game.

On the other hand, it's smart of them to do it early considering the mess matchmaking was for Halo: MCC. It'd be best for them to prepare for Halo 5 even better.

This list is so lol worthy it is almost jocular.

Why do games like tomorrow children, rime, and The Witness make the grade but Ori & the Blind forest and Below do not ? also, The Witness is coming to X1 too.

Another thing, what is the release date for SF V again ? what about deep down ?

Ori and the Blind Forest and Below are traditional indie games. They're 2D games with very low production values. The Tomorrow Children, Rime, and The Witness are made by bigger teams and are fully 3D games. Their production values aren't on the same level.

As far as Street Fighter 5, that's another one that could slip into 2016. I tend to think it has a realistic shot at 2015 because Capcom usually doesn't unveil Street Fighter games more than a year out. Plus, the engine is obviously from Street Fighter 4, so I don't think they're going to have a lengthy dev cycle on this one.

Deep Down was rumored to be a 2014 release and there's already a beta happening. I can't see that game slipping to 2016. It was one of the first PS4 games ever shown off too.

Also, Tomb Raider is coming to the PS4 too but not in 2015.

no that did surprise it was broken, the sales numbers didn't.

Did Capcom ever say 100% that Deep Down would never come to Xb1? They were very clear about SF5, I wonder if the same is true for Deep Down?

I think there is a much easier way to classify this, is the game from an indie studio or AAA studio?
