I am – Hercules!!

George R.R. Martin, who authors the books on which HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” is based, has big plans for the finish of the books and says “discussions” are underway regarding whether or not to end the franchise with a $100-million big-screen epic.

"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

While a “Thrones” movie would probably prove a blockbuster (“Sex and the City,” which precipitated a blockbuster movie, was never – like “Thrones” – HBO’s top-rated series), the movies – even the R-rated movies -- are actually less permissive of things like incestuous back-door fornication than HBO.

Warner Bros., one of HBO’s Time Warner sister companies, found a billion-dollar hit in its dragon-and-dwarf epic “The Desolation of Smaug.”

Martin also hopes his “Dunk and Egg” prequels, which follow the ancestors of the Baratheons, Starks and Lannisters some 75 years before the birth of Daenerys Stormborn Targaryan, may also find their way to the big screen.

IMO this only works if the TV show cast are cast in the same roles in the movie. I just couldn't imagine anybody else playing these roles.

Yes, it would have to be the same actors. I can't wait for Season 4. I still don't think I've recovered from the ending of Season 3 either!

Cast is already aging too fast and would be too old by the time a movie comes around.

They aren't going to not film all the books, if the producers want to cap the series with a big budget film thats what they are going to do.
