Official Thread Game of Thrones

Burnout mainly, but also because while there are several other shows I want to watch, I rarely do watch TV so I get behind. Ended up watching some other stuff first.

The last two seasons were my favorite. The show really picks up and the action was movie action good if not better in some scenes.

Was kind of funny how last season seemed to get more complaints than the others because people said it seemed like "fan fiction" I think they were used to so much intrigue and twists that they didn't know how to handle it when all of the things that had happened in the past were finally starting to come to a head. At some point all of that great storytelling and set up had to lead to some kind of payoff and that's what seasons 7 and 8 are for.

Well when you consider how the show was paced before to what it is now that is a valid complaint depending on what you want out of the show. Characters are pretty much just teleporting around Westeros. Must have unlocked the fast travel option.

The storytelling quality if significantly worse and its become more of a summer blockbuster but without the books to guide them that was a trade that is ultimately for the best.

But it's coming to the end. The bulk of the story has been told and now its time to end it

It was time for the show to pick up pace.

I've thought about going back to watch them all, but I also wouldn't mind just reading the books as well.

They don't have the time to take 3 episodes to travel from Winterfell to Kings Landing anymore, we all know how long it takes by now so they don't really need to keep showing us every step of every journey, we should just accept that time passes between what we saw before and what we are seeing now. Like when Varys was on Dany's ship people complained because he was just in Dorne, do they not think that time had to have gone by to get the fleet ready and hell even to make that awesome dragon head for the front of her ship? They don't need to hold our hands and fill in every second anymore, there just isn't the time. The episodes were bound to get bigger because the army building is done and now all of the players are in place not to mention we have full grown dragons so yeah that's going to make things more of a spectacle than they were before.

I have never seen this show. But I figured with it being so popular, I should check it out. I just ordered season 1 in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. I am looking forward to seeing if this is a show I will like.
