Official Thread Game of Thrones

The previous season was incredibly disappointing due to its predictability, fan-service, and lack of wit from the earliest seasons, when GRRM's writing was used. I don't have high hopes for the final season. I'm expecting the Starks and Dany to win and live happily ever after.

RR had a strong hand in it if memory serves.

Don't think so. He used to write an episode a season but stopped.

Well its still going to be his ending so I doubt we will see that kind of happy ending. They definitely aren't capable of writing the show well without the books to go so yeah I don't expect great story telling. I'm just here for the spectacle and to get some (and the only ever) kind of conclusion.

A 4k/HDR boxed set is a must..

Decided against watching with s***ty Comcrap cable and instead am streaming via HBO Now which puts out a much cleaner picture.

He still consults them in regards to the story.

Strong hand may not have been the correct choice of words. By that I meant he told them what the end needs to be and the path that takes them there. I don't think he helped with dialogue.

Yeah they know the end but how much of that path is questionable

Its fan fiction but thats his fault and not theirs

3 more days. My body is ready! The haters of the last couple seasons are not going to ruin my enjoyment. I’m ready to see how it all ends and hopefully we’re satisfied.

I hate final seasons in shows I really enjoy. Always a chance they ruin the whole thing.

Going to have to block the internet till I get home from work tomorrow. Thank God the wait is over.

You know you have to take your hat off to a show that has this much going on with the stakes are higher than ever and they still find a way to squeeze 3 naked whores in there.

Lots of scenes very similar to scenes in previous seasons.

Like how the intro starts from the Night King perspective and how the tiles flip to show his path/progression.

Sansa's comment to Tyrion seems interesting.

Doubt Bron will do it.

Arya: Sansa is the smartest person I know

I hope not. I don't want to dislike Bronn.

And yet she has outplayed everybody so far.

Everybody? Littlefinger isn't everybody. And really that whole plot only really would have worked if Sansa and Arya were working together the entire time to fool him but they weren't and there really would have been no reason to do so anyway. The conflict between them had to be real which makes Sansa look like an idiot.

And here we go again with more family conflict. She even complains about having to feed the army as if there is any choice about it.

I do think their intention to have her be a big game player is the right one and one where GRRM intends for her to be but her overall arc has failed because they have given her so little to do that actually makes her look smart or someone that has really evolved. The time she spent being raped by Ramsey is the time needed to actually grow to where we are supposed to believe she is at. They ultimately chose shock value over good storytelling.

Now if they took all the s*** she went through and turned her into a mini Cersei? That would make sense.

Finally... the show will confirm Dany to be the main threat so she can be put down

She has evolved, a lot. That is pretty obvious.

She waasn't complaing about feeding the army. Her issue is being left out the loop.

What Sansa is might not be as hip as a faceless man, a King, or a 3 eyed raven, but she is a surivor.

Of course she has evolved. The storytelling that explains that evolution is a complete failure

Just cause it's not been done the way someone wants isn't poor story telling
