Gaming headset recommendations

Anybody have or used the Epos H6Pro (open back)?

I always go with a wireless closed back gaming branded headset, but these days they pretty much all seemed tuned for FPS games. I Want something more neutral/balanced/natural. That seems to come from wired non gaming brands like Epos/Seinheisser...more Hi-Fi headphone oriented companies

Was going to go with @eVo7 Epos PC38x recommendation, but the build quiality/finish on those looks pretty poor, and doesn't have a detachable mic. I was going to go with the Seinheisser HD560S but can't add a mic to them so those are out. The Epos H6Pro apparently has the same drivers as the PC38x but look better and has detachable mic.

The H6Pro's went on sale. Only £80 instead of £150. Bought.

Also picked up the Astro Mixamp Pro TR. Always been curious about these gaming amps.

£120 if you use the code B&O20
I got the Xbox variant in navy blue for $199, they’re out of stock in most stores, even online. If you search them on Amazon you’ll immediately get third party sellers marking them up up to 500 dollars, do a google search and you’ll get their store link for Amazon with their new price of 149.99 or 199.99, depends on the colour

*edit to add below

I lied, just checked my receipt, I may have got it on sale cos my total was 167 and some change… and they’re sold out now, they have stupid markups now.

Long video.

Not geared towards gaming. More an Audiophile ranking. Only passive wired headsets too.

I would say these are more suited to your atmospheric single player games.

I am thinking about buying these, but the build quality looks questionable. I hear they sound amazing though and the ratings are great.

Amazon product

Looks like the material may be a bit too plasticky, but could just be the lighting. Do any of the reviews mention anything about build quality? Everything seems to be well aligned, like no major panel gaps like those found on a Tesla

I thought the same thing which is why I went with the Epos H6Pro's (open) but....in all my research I haven't noticed anything to suggest the PC38x has an actual build quality issue. They just look cheap.

Plus @eVo7 swears by the PC38x.

You cannot go wrong with a pc38x at all. Good for music and great for games if you need an all in oner. Great sound stage and easy to pinpoint where things are coming from if you're a fps gamer and the mic on it is still top tier.

I'll always recommend the pc38x to someone who is ready to move past razer, astro, turtle beach, or whatever else gaming junk.

Keep it in mind for the next. I'm just using a Sennheiser HD 599 SE edition I bought for $99 black Friday a few years ago and pairing it with a Fiio E10k DAC. Quite satisfied.

I use the HD 58X for general gaming as I have a boom arm XLR mic and I use HD 6XX for music listening. And I have a mod mic that I attach to it if I dont feel like using the boom arm but I used the pc38x still every once and awhile. Great set.
