Anyone with suggestions on what to get? I have a crap Microsoft wireless one now that has been punched and beaten so I need something new. I guess I prefer Logitech as I have always gone with their stuff and currently have one of their gaming mice. I have the following on my mind:

G710 Mechanical - $150 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitec...&skuId=6819135&st=logitech keyboard&cp=1&lp=5

G510s - $120 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitec...&skuId=8785577&st=logitech keyboard&cp=2&lp=2

I really don't want to spend more than $150. Can probably price match at BB since Amazon is cheaper. Anyone have one of those, otherwise what do you suggest?

Thanks

If you want to go cheap I'd get a microsoft sidewinder x4. I got mine for $40 and it's amazing keyboard.
If you want to spend a little more and go mechanical I cannot stress enough how amazing the Corsair Vengeance K70 is. I LOVE this KB, been using it since December and I honestly don't think I could go to any other KB. When the time comes to replace this one I'm definitely going with another Corsair mechanical. In fact, if I had the extra dough I'd get their RGB lit mechanical (basically the K70 with RGB LED's).

One thing I can say for certain, based on personal experience with FOUR of them, DO NOT get a Razer mechancal KB, they're poorly made and fail regularly.

And by regularly I mean that me and a room mate went through 4 of them in less than a month before we returned them for store credit.

+1 on the MS Sidewinder X4. Had one for a few years now and it's great value and a great keyboard. I would stay away from Razer keyboards, I know some people are fine with them but most people seem to have them replaced due to poor build quality. It's why I'd stay away from their mice too.

Pretty much this.
The sidewinder is awesome if you want a good budget keyboard that gets the job done.

I have the Sidewinder as well.

But use this for shooters. After a very small learning curve, it has helped me ten fold competitively.

I'm not sure I could ever adjust to something like that. I suck enough with a normal mouse, this would just be beyond bad for me.

That's what I thought a few years ago before getting a n52te. The Tartarus is even better. I took literally a couple of days to get used to it, and it just now feels so natural when playing shooters. It "fits" the hand better than a standard keyboard.

Think I will go ahead with the Corsair. I went to Best Buy to check them out today and saw the K70 there calling my name. Did some more research on it and I like what I'm seeing. Plus it's on sale right now.

I tried to use a keyboard and mouse on my Mac. I could never do it again. It's just so awkward for someone who's used nothing but controllers, and arcade sticks, their entire gaming life.

I approve this pic! Seriously.

When I used to play PC games more back in the day, I prefer playing with these bulky clacking keyboards rather than the smooth feel of laptops or the slimmer/sleeker keyboard I had for my last desktop years back.

I love the feel using these bulky keyboards as the buttons' large and pointy spacing between them gives good tactile feel and you could wedge/rest your fingers in the spaces knowing that it takes a moderate amount of pressure in order to accidentally press other buttons. Sleek/smooth/slim keyboards are too easy to accidentally press other buttons.

Good choice.

However, something I forgot to mention is the media keys (play/pause, FF, REW). On my PC I can't get those keys to work with windows media center or winamp and I haven't tried itunes, but they work perfectly with spotify. Could just be my system but I thought it fair to let you know in case that's something you really want out of your KB.
