cant you buttholes stave off the graphics talk for one thread

They are intrinsically part of every single game, of course. Even dominating most of the discussion isn't bad, but you guys argue and make it so plodding, long, and tiresome. Back and forth all week long looks good looks bad get your eyes checked etc etc

what about my needs

whatever. Anyone else not able to hit s***? I've been fumbling with sensitivity sliders all up and down, but am always overshotting or too slowly trailing. I think now that it's the aim acceleration. Gotta 0 that and see if I can actually nail a headshot later. That bloody torque bow relic haunts my dreams.
Some guns bounce all over the place like the hammerburst.

Pot calling the kettle black.
Boi, please... You s*** talk Xbox games, acquisitions, marketing, GP like you earned a degree in it, then wonder why people arent surprised when you do the same thing with a game like Gears 5. Because of your reputation (not of being a Sony fan, but because you're not a fan of Xbox), people can't take you seriously when you try to post criticisms, because you do it frequently when it comes to Xbox in general. It's cool if you dont like the game, but when you try and smash with a comment like, "THE ONLY INTERESTING CHARACTER IS THE BOT AND HE DOESNT EVEN TALK" is on some hyper-troll s***.

Own that s*** dude! Thats all Im sayin..

Agreed. But he has admitted that he doesn't even want to play it. We don't need that. I KNEW he would be posting this way once he got it. He does it all the time for Xbox games.
Stop reading his comments then.

If he really didn'rt wan't to play it, he wouldn't. Why would anybody spend 10 to 15 hours playing a game they don't want to play and hasn't eve bought? Just to s*** talk? Can do that without wasting 10 hours playing it.

If he really said it then it will be an exaggeration. Something forum folk do all the time.

I'm not. This is a recurring thing, Menace. Don't make this an expressing your opinion issue. His opinion on Gears 5 was set long before he played it. It's a recurring thing. You know he only pulls this crap if it's for something positive for Xbox.

I don't mind people discussing their dislikes, but he's like those sour piñatas that invade the garden. I can guarantee he will do this (again) with The Outer Worlds, Halo Infinite, XO19 and whatever else positive for Xbox. He will set up his vinegar lemonade shop and try to make it the main attraction. Ain't nobody got time for that!
You all would have said the same thing about mek but since my comments are positive you all are fine.

If he only does this when it is a positive thing for Xbox, then this is only like the second time he has done it all gen.

Not true, this just happens to be the game I'm playing right now. I am playing it because I loved the first 3 games, I was curious to try this one and only having to pay $2 to play it made it a no brainer to try it out. They can still change my mind btw , it's not set in stone but the deck was already stacked because Kate was not a likeable character in the last game IMO and I think they rushed a bit switching characters again, they should have taken more time to set up her story so we actually got to know her better before switching to her, we just went to JD last game and now we are leaving him already (well sort of) for a new character.

Just so the ultra sensitive hear something positive from me, the HDR is great in this game just as it is in most Xbox 1st party games, the sound is well done too. As far as weapons so far I like the cryogun the best, freezing and then shattering the enemy is fun although I do wish there was a little more oomph to the fatal blow there.

You played Gears 4, right? That whole game was basically setting up her story; once you reach the end, people were already speculating she was going to be the focus for Gears 5.

I would have to agree about Kait at this moment in time. I am only at the end of Act 2 right now, but so far, JD in Act 1 was a better lead. Then again, the character dynamic was more engaging due to the history of the group.

Since Act 2 Kait and Del have been pretty bland characters. Still plenty of time for that to change for me, though.

Yes I know but we were only just introduced to JD in that game, he was basically a transitional lead and to be honest he was more interesting than she is even with her storyline. Others may disagree but she just came across as whiney and boring in 4 and so far she's not all that much more likeable in this game. They rushed some stuff in the beginning of this game as well, the whole "reveal" about JD fell really flat IMO, why were we supposed to care about that?

This is one of the best looking games on any platform this generation.

It is also a superb achievement in storytelling giving life and emotional connection to the characters.

The MP is superb.

Just f**king enjoy it.....

When did gaming move from playing to forum trash talking!

I don't think JD was all that in 4 to warrant being the lead in 5. It wasn't his turn this time around, and I think that's a good thing for the series. In 4 he was like having Nathan Drake in Gears armor. Gears 4 was the setup to Kait's story with her community, family and then that reveal at the end was pretty nicely done.

You were talking about how Kait's look is bad, she looks like a barista, the Gears 5 could've been fun but she's annoying. That was even before you played it. You have to give her a chance. I wouldn't want a happy go lucky guy to lead in Gears 5. And focusing mainly on him from where things stand story wise wouldn't do much for me. JD is slowly changing from 4 during his absences and I wouldn't mind playing him in 6 to explore how he's flawed and how his personality traits have changed from Nathan Drake #2. I think they're doing a good job slowly setting up development of these three characters in a game franchise where, let's be honest, character growth wasn't really a thing in 1-3.

I think I'm near the end of the snow quest and my hope is that the trio will have drastically changed from 4 by 6. I hope they change Del in the next one, because he's been the typical (boring) sidekick, best friend support character for Kait and JD.

She still reminds me of a Barista in Battle Armor, I don't know who wrote her part but she just comes across like a stereotypical female in this kind of role. We'll see, I don't hate her this time around but I still don't like her either she's just kind of there, her partner is boring but at least he comes across as a nice guy so I don't want to lose him.. That other guy Fahz who's mean for no reason though is really hard to like, I think they went overboard when writing his part, we are just getting introduced to him and he's a total a****** with no context for why he behaves that way. I did come across a character I like but you haven't gotten to his point yet so I won't spoil anything.

As far as character growth in the original trilogy I did care about those characters when playing though, when Dom died I was actually bummed for a little while lol. I know it's hard to keep writing stories in the same universe for a long time and not lose something, very few are able to do it.

You all would have said the same thing about me
No. You are just a bluntly honest person and you are consistent and you stick to you laurels. Mad props for that. You have been that way here for as long as we have all been on TXB.

I must say, as frustrating as the boss was on Act 2 (and I was going to ALMOST have my son log in and co-op it with me), there was a huge sense of satisfaction after beating it.

It makes me understand the success behind the Dark Souls games. I can't play them because I can't "git gud", but I know that when you do beat them, it's exhilarating.

Think I know where you are. Sounds like the same place D-VANT and I are at in our CooP campaign.

I'm quite enjoying the snow level personally. The side missions barely qualify as side missions but playing on Experienced diffcultly level adds a really challenging enjoyment to them. The only thing about the game that is a little irritating for me so far is how ammo is handled on the open world levels. Basically, there is no ammo available outside of picking up dropped weapons.

I don't recall (yes my memory is that short) lack of ammo in the snow level. However, in the red desert, there are a bunch of the skinny ammo boxes for sure.

We're really struggling with ammo. There are weapons you can pick up but they are usually the smg, the shotgun or the hammer burst. On the savepoint we have right now I'm down toa gnasher with 12 rounds and an overkill with 4 rounds. Menace I think has a torque bow & a gnasher. They aren't the best weapons to go into some of the fights with, especially on Experienced difficulty.

yeah the lack of ammo is frustrating at times.

Now this is what I call a campaign :bownew:

Hell yeah, I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like because of work. But I did get some time in last night and was expecting the worst from the Snow level but its been awesome. Perhaps I have a weakness for ominous research facility but I feel really invested in the story so far.

I haven't found a weapon I don't like to use.....except the torqbow since I don't have the patience to wait for it to charge up and accurately shoot the enemy. But every weapon has awesome sound and more importantly have their own weighty characteristics and recoil pattern. Plus the enemy types in this game look so damn cool to fight against. Some are super juicy as they react to bullets.

You would think shooting in a shooter would work well but that's not the case with some games. Go and play Days Gone on PS4 and witness the annoying nature of having to fight against every firearm in the game which had me scratching my head why the devs thought it was such a good idea to make the player frustrated when using the primary means of dispatching enemies. Soooooo glad Gears 5 devs didn't make the mistake to over think the shooting mechanics.

Same here, and the level ends at just about the right length (did all the side missions) too. Ammo is definitely in short supply, I’ve run dry a bunch of times. I didn’t think the boss was all that bad, a bitch to fight definitely, and I’m playing on experienced too.
