). Second, it IS coming to Xbox - perhaps sometime this year. Lastly, check out Mutant Year Zero (you have to play through the first two levels to really "get it") - it's an RTS like Gears Tactics.

Gears Tactics is a really solid game bogged down by one significant, but easily fixable flaw. Those f***ing required side missions. So boring and repetitive. Eventually those are what took me out of the game. If they tweak the requirement of those, it will be a much better game. That filler hurts it a lot. Otherwise Gears Tactics has a really good foundation and has potential to rival Xcom down the road once they flesh out the strategy layer between missions.
Agrreed. Those side missions need to be optional. There was more side mission content than Main campaign missions in my estimation. Alot of useless grinding. But as you said it lays a great foundation for the next game in the series.

This will probably be my first new game I play on the XSX. Will be getting game pass soon and I've been wanting to try this out.
Gears Tactics is a solid game, beautifully rendered. It has a bit of padding but its otherwise pretty good. I hope to see a sequel the same way that Halo Wars seems to be its own franchise now.
Mandatory side missions. Cannot be skipped. Grinds out the experience.
Will be giving this game a try either tonight or over the weekend, whenever I Feel i have enough time to dedicate to giving it a decent look.

Been playing this since I got the X yesterday. Very early in, but seems to be really good. I'm only playing on intermediate but I've had a couple near wipes already.
