I'm going to be staring at this thread tomorrow from work, fueled with jealousy at all of you posting impressions, knowing my X1 is sitting on my porch at home. Luckily none of you scoundrels know where I live. ;)

Imma be starin' at it all weekend looking all like dis

I have to say, I'm really excited for all of you guys who didn't get a PS4 to get your X1's. This last week with the PS4 has been the most fun I've had with video games in quite some time. I was really burned out on this generation of games over the last year, and didn't really enjoy much of anything (was even disappointed in GTA). Having these new games with incredible graphics and performance has really changed that around for me, so much fun. Look forward to seeing everyone else's excitement and fun here tomorrow, constantly checking the time to see if I can finally go home and fire my X1 up as well.

I'll be staring while I've got my box hooked up to a TV that the XB1 won't support so it'll be set up, maybe downloading some games, and then waiting to get a short-term solution on the TV front.

got one last night.

+ Set up, extremely easy - UI is very fast, fluid and easy to navigate.
+ Games: Played Forza and RYSE - Both a graphic show case, really fun to play and the ease to go in and out of game and the dash is a marvel achievement.
+ Kinect voice seems to work well atm. I have a deep not that clear voice and picked up what I was saying.
+ Game Record seem like fun
+ Snap works well - haven't tried to watch TV or Skype someone in Snap.
+ Friends list/Followers improved. Can see Direct feed of what everyone is doing in achievements and game clips.

- No Install or data management system so when u install games you wont know if its downloading a patch or installing the game 1st and no where to tell how much space u have or to delete games you don't want.
- Lack of APPS on the AUS marketplace at launch is disappointing.
- DD pricing is a rip off 10-20% more expensive then retail
- Games like Panzer Dragoon and the Golf game are more expensive then last gen XBLA games. Old system it would be a 1600pts price.
- No demos

Overall I'm Happy and I hope more content and games come out soon.

My UI ain't working??? No videos or pics???
Also how do you check how much space there is left? And also controller battery life please?
Not sure about other questions but as of right now you can't check the HDD for how much space is left. MS has said they know it needs to be added and will be adding it but gave no time frame.

can someone please elaborate on the mandatory game installs? So even on disc, one must download to the HDD? How long does that take and can you play the game while it does that?

All games need to be installed. Usually between 10-15% you can start playing.

Man.. this system is sleek and sexy!

wtf is the screw hole on the bottom of the kinect for?!

First impressions ..

- It's a box - it's black... :)
- Larger than X360 slim (not by much)...
- Runs quiet - installing a game now (BF4) - "hums" in my credenza. Otherwise - whisper quiet.
- Much Faster than X360
- While waiting - finally got to play around with PS4 demo at store.
- X1 OS/UI is hands down much better than PS4 UI/OS = much more fluid and (as expected) approachable.
- PS4, by comparison, feels "bare bones"... but serviceable.
- Game updates are HUGE - hope you have data plans.. :)
- BF4 = 1.1 GB
- Forza 5 = 6GB!!!! (WTH?)
- AC4 = ??? (installing BF4 first)

Will update more as I fool around with it - overall - very happy and impressed so far...

I'll post better impressions tomorrow, tired and bed soon. System looks great, dash will take some getting used to. Controller feels great, the Kinect view is fantastic, I don't hav a ton of space from my tv to my couch and this thing picked up most of my living room, big improvement and 2 players should no longer be an issue for people with limited space... Anyone know how you get the day one achievment?

So no trials now for digital games? That's a shame and could cost games sales.

Some quick impressions...
I am really impressed with this system.
The voice commands worked 98 percent of the time, including when I played Battlefield single player.
The UI is great!
The TV service works great. I have ATT uverse and I had no problems so far.
Xbox was even able to program my TCL TV!
I tested xbox on and off commands, it works excellent. My TV, cable box and xbox all shut off and go on at the same time.

- The installing of games is taking forever.
- Can you close an app?

Sorry for the horrible grammar. I am exhausted and excited all at the same time.
One more thing before I go to bed...

The future is now!!:bang::bang::bang:

havnt tried tv yet, not thrilled about having to always hav the Xbox on for tv, wish I could still use cable the normal way too. Quick question, were u able to adjust the volume while u watch. Tv and play a game?

You can still use cable the normal way, you just have to have your Xbox on with your cable box.
I just hope having the xbox on all the time it doesn't cause to many problems in the future.

Yes, I used voice commands to turn my volume down when I watched tv and in game.

I'm really impressed with the Xbox one.

Buy a HDMI splitter box and run one to your TV/AVreceiver and the other to your xbox. Splitter boxes are cheap.

I thought I read if ur cable was hoooked up to the Xbox that was the only way u could use it. I also thought I read there was no seperate volume control using snap but it was coming, I thought that was crazy so good to hear u can turn one down and one up, I'll try it tomorrow. Wondering though will it be to much wear and tear always having the Xbox on when I watch tv, maybe I'll look into the splitter thing menace said and if that would work I'd probably like that better.....yes voice controls work great so far even talking low!!

Have any of you guys downloaded any games yet?

I just want to know whether or not the game downloads operate like 360, where when it is finished downloading you can play instantly or like PS3 where you have to download, then install.

Seeing reports of Ryse taking 2 hours to install via disc sounds awful enough.

Tonight is the first time I played Forza on my home setup... holy crap, I forgot how friggin' good this game looks. 1080p, 60fps... and amazing textures/models... it's shockingly gorgeous.
