Well that escalated quickly...

TLDR: Microsoft hasn't said a peep about the next Xbox hardware other than it is coming. Speculation is healthy but let's not pass that off as fact just yet.

I honestly believe Microsoft will have the power advantage personally during the next generation (it just makes sense from the beating they took this gen), but anything is possible.

Agreed. I don’t think MS will ever lose the ‘power war’ again, but if that’s true, the only real question is how much of a difference will that be in game performance, AI, physics, etc.

Either way, I expect them to tout the numbers in a big way.

So why keep pushing a 14tf value if you know it won't hit it? Unless you are just trolling the XBOX crowd in here? It's all speculation, but you seem to be talking down to those who have presented contrasting information that was actually stated in the videos you are referencing. You are cherry picking a made up number and touting it as fact.
He’s trolling like always.

That 1400 needs to be 1500 at least.

If Microsoft is aiming the next Xbox to be more powerful than the PS5, and IF that chart is accurate it won't need to increase the clock speed at all.

Assuming the GPU chips in the XboxNext/PS5 are from the same family/architecture the gap in power will be more associated with GPU CU counts.

I'm almost certain both GPUs will be clocked nearly or very nearly the same due to thermal throttling/heat restrictions. Thus as I said CU counts and RAM will take center stage in the specs war.

I just talked to the source of that pic I posted (with the 3 levels of numbers), and he told me he created it based on pure speculation. No inside info. Just an FYI.

From Brad Sams:

https://www.resetera.com/threads/ne...a-dont-want-none.112607/page-60#post-20170663

Microsoft's Dante (the dev kit) is more powerful than Anaconda, this is typical, as you give devs the kitchen sink and ship a subset of that hardware. From what i have seen, the dev kit matches the CPU/GPU but things like RAM, and ports are different. Anaconda will have a smaller amount of RAM but I dont think it's locked down yet as they wait to see how performance shakes out across the industry.

To go from 12 to 16 gb of ram is trivial at this point, or to go from 16 to 32 etc can be done but will come down to cost. So what I believe is happening, they are weighing out Sony's options and pricing RAM and storage etc (still expecting full solid state, likely of the NVME flavor) to make sure they are significantly more expensive than the PS5 but they also want that crown of highest performing device.

It's a bit like poker, Microsoft wants to, at minimum, match the PS5 but in reality, is trying to have better specs at the end of the day. But with neither company playing their cards fully yet, we don't quite know.

Remember, the base features, CPU/GPU are both coming from AMD, so raw features for those parts will be similar but will come down to thinks like clock speed, cooling, and software optimization.

I have not seen it personally, but I am seeing others are reporting the same issue as you on other forums.

I game on Xbox One primarily because of the Live system and the controller. I will be the first to admit that Sony does have some fantastic games, and in some instances, some better looking... but I don't want them to fail. Hell, I expect to keep buying all game consoles LOL I have owned both through all of the years and don't intend to stop. Both are successful and to wish anything else is childish.
Childish? More like idiotic.

But, where is the competition and innovation this gen? There hasn't been any....yet, Sony seems to have had one of its best generations as far as the games go. So, failure doesn't necessarily breed stagnation at all.

As for next gen xbox...all I see are people getting overhyped because MS bought a few hit & miss studios. Is it good they bought studios, yes. However, MS let let ignorance and stagnation set in --despite fierce competition last gen --and lost the mindshare and goodwill of many.

So, yes there is alot of Xbox negativity, it is deserved for the most part and all Ms's fault. They have a long way to go to win back that which they lost.

I agree on most of that, but I have to say also, I don't see the reason why PS4 sold SO well. Not really the arena to discuss this here, but I have played nearly all of their flagship titles and they were just ok. Standout to me was Horizon Zero dawn.. but that doesn't come down to Sony hardware, that is the talent the Sony developers have to make visually good games. Nothing to do with the console power or any of that mumbo... if they ported Zero Dawn over, it would look and perform just as well on the X.

MS dug a deep hole without a doubt, but they are steadily climbing out of it.

Most popular brand, had the best messaging, and followed it up with highly acclaimed games.

Only way MS was ever going to break the perception of it being the inferior console was with great must play games. It never happened.

Because of those games and the lack of them on Xbox.

MS has barely moved....they are stuck 11ft down the 12ft hole they dug.

Let's be fair while MS screwed up 2013, the hate is what makes everyone making money.

So many moms and other videos are just out of control.

While Sony have better looking games they did not move the needle how MS the last 2 gen.

Microsoft is going all out to flex their power to prove these fools which they will still continue to hate.

Sony only did well is because MS did bad on their launch.

Well seehow it will be the next Gen.

Others than Gears of War--not even a first party game-- over a decade a go what game moved the needle....especially this gen.

I'm talking as whole.

MS was the first to put a HDD and a Network adapter in every OG xbox.

MS was the first to make xbox xbox live work on day one on every console after its second year on the OG Xbox.

MS also made parry chat built in the party chat in the OG xbox in the dashboard.

MS was also the first to made friends easy with cross chat no matter what game you were playing.

MS was the first to bring DLC on the OG xbox.

MS was also the first to introduce achievements in every game.

That was game changer to all of us.

MS was also first to have a hdmi in and out so you still on xbox live while watching TV.

What did Sony really bring?

A weak online Infrastructure and part chat was so last gen which they have it now.

Unlike Sony, MS will always change the game.

That being said they are things that really gets me under my skin on MS decision on some things which I dont get. So they are not perfect but they definitely made gaming what it is.
