I thought Gears 5 was great. But I would like to see the Coalition create a fresh IP.

I was into it until about half way through the red desert party of the game. Game just became boring to me after that.

I felt that the story telling was just so much more entertaining to me in the first half of the game.

WTF, why would she be with Cliff?

*edit to add

I’m gonna say fake, that gt and the simple pan thats totally flat, that’s photoshopped and the original most likely same image but a phone pic from that same moment
I agree, looks too dull. It's almost guaranteed that when you switch over to your games it will show some moving gif or video or something eye catching. The video didn't show any navigation; not even cycling through games.

Based off the recent IGN Japan video that was posted, someone on Reset made this chart (again, these are deductions from the info in that video). Can anyone confirm/deny the conclusions?

so lets take the findings of this video to the logical conclusion.

PS5 -
  • navi 10 lite.
  • 9.2 tflops.
  • no true hardware rt.
  • no vrs.
XSX -
  • navi 21 lite.
  • 12 tflops.
  • hardware rt.
  • vrs.
  • 7nm+. 20% more die space. so that die is actually a 485mm2 7nm die. 80 cus?
  • All other rdna 2.0 improvements. 20% per tflops arch improvements is to be expected. so 12 rdna 2.0 tflops perform like 14.4 rdna 1.0 tflops. so it's more like 9.2 tflops vs 14.4 tflops.
  • VRS offers 20% more performance so we are now looking at a 17 rdna 1.0 tflops gpu vs a 9.2 tflops rdna 1.0 gpu.

Didn't Mark Cerney already confirm HW RT for PS5?

Yeah I thought so too..? But I think there is a gray area there concerning the GPU.? If anyone wants to comment with an explanation, feel free.

Seems obvious there is:

Both of them are identical unless they aren't, in which case one of them is more powerful than the other, unless it isn't, so believe whatever the f*** makes you feel good unless you like being angry.

I do! But then I cry and it feels better.

Honestly, is there a difference? Not trying to be a d*ck, but is this just a difference of terms, or does it mean a performance difference?

HW-based vs HW accelerated..?

Sony said it had hardware RT... Why you still being ignorant?

Val, is raytracing a big deal in your opinion? I’ve seen some videos where it looks really cool. Especially in giving older games new life. I know some dev said that it will go beyond having better shadows and reflections.

Not as much as HDR or 60fps.

Still great but to resource heavy...I am still banking on AMD coming up with a better performing version and who knows what Sony's engineers are doing?
