or new DLC?

Is Ghost of Tsushima getting a sequel or new content for the PS5? A job listing posted by developer Sucker Punch could hint towards this.

One of the requirements detailed on the narrative writer position is specifically asking for people who have a "desire to write stories set in feudal Japan", and that knowledge of the time period's history would be a bonus.

If you've played Ghost of Tsushima, you'll know that the game takes place in 1274, which could readily be seen as 'feudal Japan', so it stands to reason that this new position could be anything from a brand new game coming to PS5, DLC, an expansion to the new Legends multiplayer mode or even just a standalone expansion for the base game.

We already know that Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on the PS5 in 60fps when the new console launches next month, so it stands to reason that the narrative writer position could be for a standalone expansion for the game.

As we mention, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was recently released. This is a free multiplayer mode for the base game and it makes sense that Sucker Punch would be interested in adding more content to it.

As it stands, there are a few missions to tackle in two-player co-op which follows something of a narrative arc and then there is a four-player survival mode which sees you face off against waves of enemies.

Whatever it turns out to be if you loved Ghost of Tsushima, you have plenty to be excited for and seeing a completely new story set in feudal Japan would be an excellent addition.

Loved the first outing, one of the best games this year for sure. A sequel will no doubt be a day one for me....

Aww just a rumor, pretty much a given considering the success of this game, looking forward to more beautiful scenery.

This would be the 2nd known game I would want on PS5, next to the God Of War sequel

However... These two games are just not enough from Sony to get me to buy a $500 PS5.

I would need my most wanted game = A Bloodborne sequel

Well I held off buying in hopes of a PS5 touch up edition.

If they made a separate PS5 version (not a patch) that required a purchase, like the original Spider-Man remastered, I'd be tempted to buy it and play it again for more trophies. Such a great game.

I wouldn't even hesitate. Loved it.

$30 to upgrade from PS4 version to the PS5 with the expansion.

Ehhhhh… put 40 hours in already on PS4 and loved it to death, so if the expansion is substantial content I may do it, but if it’s 5-7 hours of gameplay no thanks.

If the Miles Morales expansion is any indication on content length, I'll estimate more towards the 12-15 hour mark with that being extended when trying to 100% it.

Is there any way to just buy the DLC as a standalone content ? I borrowed my brother's physical PS4 copy before so don't have it in my library.

So no free update?

Doesn't look like it. If I can't buy the standalone Iki content, I might just wait.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will launch on August 20 for $69.99 USD on PS5 and $59.99 USD on PS4.
- If you already own Ghost of Tsushima on PS4:
You can pre-order an upgrade to Director’s Cut on PS4 for $19.99 USD. This upgrade will become available starting on August 20.
- Starting on August 20:
If you bought Director’s Cut PS4, you’ll be able to upgrade to Director’s Cut PS5 at any time for $9.99 USD
You can also upgrade directly (from original Ghost of Tsushima PS4) to Director’s Cut on PS5 for $29.99 USD

If you own the regular PS4 version (which I do) and just want the graphical upgrades for PS5 its $9.99? Sony is actually charging for the graphical upgrade itself now, that's disappointing. And if I want the upgrade as well as the new content for PS5 its a total of $30. I love this game but I don't like paying extra just for the graphics overhaul for PS5. Great game but damn that sucks.

No you can't upgrade just for $9.99. You have to upgrade for $30. Which is probably my #1 issue with this.
