Ghost of Tsushima - Directors Cut Rated By ESRB For PS4/5

Again thats too long for me to wait especially if the game ends up being great like most of the end of the generation games tend to be.

It’s a tough one. If I had a Pro I would go for it day one but I don’t want to play the worst version when I’ll hopefully have a PS5 only several months down the line.

I'll prolly be pickin' up a ps5 (when availability allows) as well, but while I only have a base ps4 as well, I cannot wait any longer than absolutely necessary to snatch this game up. DAY ONE boys. I'm looking forward to this game more than any other right now. HOPEFULLY sony is going to have some sort of smart delivery equivalent, but if I have to I'm not above buying a game twice...

And of course this state of play has to start right when I start a shift at work. I guess that means it'll all be ready to go when I can actually watch it and I can skip through all the inevitable fluff that'll be packed in around any actual worthwhile content...

Just watched it. Looks really fun. I like the seasons. I just ordered it on PSN.

Also just watched the gameplay reveal. O M G....this looks awesome. It looks like the Assassin's Creed in Japan game I always wanted. The sword play looks so good and so does the stealth mechanics. And this game has dismemberment.

I watched it at work. With my potato computer and you tube's compression, I couldn't exactly tell if their was a downgrade in graphics but it doesn't really matter. I'm still all in for this game. Trying to decide to if I'm going to play with Japanese audio with english subtitles or English audio.

That's exactly how I would describe it. Though the combat reminded me of a game I haven't thought of in a long time, Bushido Blade.

Would have loved to see challenging combat, came across as pretty op, at least one back and forth battle would have been nice

Either way, looks like the AC Samurai game we never got so I’m still day 1

Graphics were fine. I watched in 4K. It’s open world so they can only do so much. The seasons are sexy.

Looks great although there were some streaming issues for me at the beginning so I need to watch it again in better quality. The world looks beautiful though, the character models and horses look great as well. It looks like a game that deserves more time on it's own than it's getting, I hope TLOU2 doesn't overshadow it too much. I'm also hoping since it's a late PS4 release that there are some PS5 upgrades coming even if only higher res and framerate.

Looks awesome, and there was quite a bit of compression, but it doesn't look like those initial reveals. I wonder if people will give this downgrade the same amount of s*** they gave the Witcher 3?

I honestly really love the way they use the wind to guide you to your chosen waypoint. Much more immersive and I hope other devs will take note. I'd love to never see another Hud element on screen...

It's funny you bring up AC. Definitely has that vibe. Combat looks like old AC style "win by parrying" . I'm cool with that! This looks like a day 1 game to me.

It doesn't look downgraded to me at all, we just saw more gameplay instead of scripted events, it was also very poor quality at the beginning so that didn't help. The open areas look just as beautiful, weather and lighting change so you can't have an exact 1-1 comparison as the first trailer. It's nothing like that Witcher 3 issue, they actually changed how the game rendered and that's what caused the issues, they thought it looked better that way.

My one nitpick is the way the characters react when getting hit with an arrow, I don't mind flying back but at least make the animation accurate to where the arrow hit, he was aiming at the side of the guys head and suddenly he flew backwards facing the camera lol.

While the graphical downgrade was evident, I am much more impressed with the gameplay showing this time around. It seems very immersive and the atmosphere has a really awesome contemporary feel. I am happy they made the game friendly for "can't git gud" gamers like me as well, so I will be choosing the easy mode. I know, I suck.

The wind and seasons were a SOLID choice and it looks great.

"The Ghost style, meanwhile, relies on stealth and deception, as well as special gadgets and long-range weapons. "

That is right up my alley. Ghost vs. Samurai. Samurai is more direct combat, Ghost being stealth.

I think you should watch the reveal again. Regardless, it doesnt bother me at all. Still looks great. I don't find downgrades offensive like some as I understand that sometimes you have to cut back to make things run as you add more tasks to the engine.

If you are talking about the ORIGINAL trailer that was all cinematics yeah it looks different than that, if you are talking about the gameplay reveal I don't think it looks downgraded at all they are just in different areas of the map.

The stealth stuff looked really fun. One hit kills seemed a bit easy though. I've had open world burnout all gen so the parts riding on a horse through open land fatigued me. Infiltrating the villages looked fun. Hopefully there's more of the later. If the stealth stays engaging all the way through, has a chance to be one of the few open world games I beat this gen.

To be fair, the one enemy that looks like it would've posed a threat in combat was the one he killed during the stealth segment, so he had a huge advantage getting a critical strike and using the throwing knife. Had he encountered that enemy during the samurai combat gameplay, we might've got to see more to it, but all he fought were underlings.

I'm loving the wind navigation as well. I do wish they didn't display button prompts quite so prominently on everything though. Big "R2" symbols on all the plants when you get close, the "O" and "triangle" prompts on enemies you can assassinate etc, there could've been more subtle ways to indicate those things and I hope they're disable-able...
