Jeff is going solo
Looks like Jeff Grubb and Dan Rykert are back on GB.
Nah, I think full time at GB and rotating over at nextlander but for their patreon subsDan will likely just do guest stuff. Already signed on to be a rotating member of a new Nextlander podcast
Red Ventures sells notable gaming brands for undisclosed sum, two years after acquiring them.
Entertainment platform Fandom has acquired a number of gaming brands from Red Ventures, including GameSpot, Metacritic, and Giant Bomb, as well as several other media sites.
The deal will see the above brands combined into Fandom's main platform, according to the company. It will also "continue to expand Fandom's global fan platform to super serve entertainment and gaming fans as well as partners."
Other brands included in the transaction are guides website GameFAQs, entertainment sites Cord Cutter News and Comic Vine, and television programming website TV Guide.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. "We're thrilled to add these powerful, authoritative brands into the Fandom platform, which will expand our business capabilities and provide immersive content for our partners, advertisers and fans," said Fandom CEO Perkins Miller. "The trusted insights, ratings and content they provide will make us a one-stop shop for fans across their entertainment and gaming journey."
GameSpot, Metacritic and Giant Bomb were sold to Red Ventures in 2020 as part of the firm's $500 million acquisition of CNET Media Group from previous owner Viacom CBS. In August, Fandom sold tabletop game maker Cortex to studio Dire Wolf Digital in a move to exit the RPG business.
I’ve heard a few, he hasn’t brought it up. Has touched on about being bought out and contracts in the industry/news but you could tell he has some distaste on some of it….but also about how some companies pay so little for contractors or how some contractors want so little as well.Haven't had time to listen to every ggerstmann podcast, did he go into more detail about why he left in the rushed way he did?

Yeah, it was very odd how he just was gone.Claimed it was because he was feeling overly stressed and creatively stifled by the increasing bureaucracy and time spent on business and management while working under a corporation.
Bit odd though, he never got a goodbye in the best of videos like everyone else.
All of a sudden GB and Nextlander are having joint streams and all the stuff he got rid of has come back. Definitely feels like they parted on bad terms.
I feel the Bombcast is better now with Jan as the host. He really makes an effort to get everyone involved while Jeff tried taking over the last year he was at GB.
Jeff confirmed he was fired 3 weeks before he quit
Was also offered a job elsewhere but didn't think it was a good move(speculation is the now dead G4)
Well, he’s in a better place now.
In one podcast didn’t he talk about already wanting to grow, hire people and such? I think he’s even registered a new for the new endeavor.
He said before he had become terrible to work with.
Not my thing but getting very positive response
He admitted he was bad to work with?
I’ll be honest, kinda digging that video
I love watching him dig around in his garage (?), massive horder, I love it lol
I think he had an NBA Jam cabinet he gave to that Irish guy on GB.
