So... I started a new truck driving job about a month ago now. The hours are still crazy, but I do manage to get home daily. I've been thinking of trying out driver Vlogging on Facebook or YouTube. I'm not sure if I expect this could be monetized or just doing it for fun and to show friends and family what this crazy job is like.

I didn't try this before because while running Regional for 10 days I didn't want to spend the little free time I had messing with video downloads and editing, but now I'm home every day and off every weekend; though I'm delivering 1am on Monday which is bullsh;t.

I've looked at different models for sale at Best Buy and not sure which one would make the most sense. I'm wondering about things like Record Times if I can just let it run for hours, convenience for download, or editing options mostly to trim or maybe put music on it.

Hmm.... after looking at some other Vlog, I wonder if there is something that could be done for cleaner audio especially since trucks have loud engine noise.

Eric Matyas may have some answers/recommendations, he’s even got a thread https://unionvgf.com/index.php?threads/free-music-resource-for-all-your-creative-needs.132005/

Or look up thefatrat on YouTube, he just request credit in your videos or where ever it’s used

I don’t know much audio wise but I think you could get away recoding audio in mono.

this may help

But I’m guessing you may want those mics that clip to your shirt or something within proximity of your head, I hear angle/direction of the mic can be really importan.

As for video editing I think you could get away with free software out there like from GoPro, YouTube. I’ve heard good things about DaVinci and blender (the same thing used to 3D model).

oh, Nervusbreakdown may have some keen suggestions, he’s done streaming on these forums. You should do a mini podcast with him.

It depends on the software your using to make this Vlog.

Eric Matyas the master of sounds which he has done a few original sounds for me.

I use OBS which there is a sound filter you can add to help take care some of the noise in the background.

Also for my youtube video editing, I use kdenlive which is free and yet powerful.

I was curious how people download the video. I read some GoPros let you turn on wireless access. Sort of like it's own AP with webserver interface.

If that is the case, I might download to my Android Tablet.
