If Ciri plays like she did in TW3 I won't be buying the game, TW3 is one of my favorite games of all time but her gameplay felt clunky and she just wasn't interesting. If she's got new gameplay then I am open to it. I think what a lot of people are sick of is games having male leads replaced with female leads and also the lecturing that has come from the dev community hasn't helped.
I don’t remember people complaining about women as lead characters when Lara Croft or Perfect Dark were created.
Plus Faye is hot. lol

Exactly. So why people complaining now lol. These days it feels like whenever there is a woman in a game , it's "that's woke".
In this comparison below, they didn't make her uglier at all.
Her being ugly might be the dumbest part of this and that says a lot.
It just makes it clear that these types of culture war battles aren't based on anything real.

I think in the past when it was a new IP they were less likely to get a complaint, nobody was mad at Horizon having a female lead either but people saw sequels to TLOU and Ghost of Tsushima swap male leads for female leads then sony announced a new IP with a female lead (intergalactic) and now a god of war that's not only not Kratos but his dead wife I think some of them are pointing out what looks like an agenda. Honestly It annoys me at times too but if you can make a compelling story than I will accept the change, this one looks like they are doing something interesting and Kratos will be back in future installments as the lead, so he hasn't been replaced.
Devs behavior on social media hasn't helped the backlash but you also have bad faith clowns like Asmongold that somehow get a lot of traction online.

Rewatched and ok yea I’m in. Bear Mcreary doing the score again and I got chills when Faye picked up the sword. Soundtrack is gonna bang.
