Watched Kong Skull Island again last night getting ready for the new film. Have to say they did a better job with human characters in this than Godzilla and KOTM.
Dude Kong Skull Island was awesome. I was so surprised at how much I liked it. Probably the best of any of the Godzilla/Kong movies to come out since they rebooted with the 90's Godzilla joint, and I really liked the Peter Jackson one.

Agreed!! They had a great cast, and appear to have had a great crew too as the cinematography and sound are fantastic too. You get to see Kong in the bright sunshine without mist, snow, smoke, haze, dust etc. impairing the view like the recent Godzilla movies unfortunately have in most all monster scenes.
It's beautiful in HDR, I was really impressed when I watched it in 4K UHD a few weeks ago.
My KOTM 4K also looks pretty nice but Skull Island beats it hands down.
