Sony really needs to figure out that "copy" process. It's so damn slow, I don't know why Xbox's updates are instantaneous, and Sony's take exponentially longer to copy than to download.

To all our users:

I wanted to explain what happened in this update.

Immediately before the release of the 1.07 update, we discovered an issue where the game would not start properly in some cases on product versions for the PS4 and PS5.

This was a rare issue that was not seen during tests on the development hardware or the QA sessions prior to the release, but in order to prioritize the safety of the save data of the users, we decided to interrupt the release of the 1.07 update, and to make a 1.08 correctional update.

This is the reason for the delay.
My sincere apologies for the late report to everyone.

Also in this update, some event rewards have been adjusted. I wanted to also explain the reasons for it and our plans going forward.

In GT7 I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions.
At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices.
I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

We will in time let you know the update plans for additional content, additional race events and additional features that will constructively resolve this.
It pains me that I can’t explain the details regarding this at this moment, but we plan on continuing to revise GT7 so that as many players as possible can enjoy the game.
We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view.

Funny how the changes made don't back up that BS pr talk.

There is no legit reason I can think of why a single player portion of a game can't be played offline, they really should fix this. If it's something they can't because it's built into the game from the ground up and they just can't technically do it than say so but the anti cheating thing just sounds like BS to me but I also don't play GT so I don't know if there really is a legit reason for it. Sony needs to step it up a bit, Horizon having as many bugs as it did for some people and now this game having this problem isn't showing the kind of polish Sony first party usually does.

Needs more grappling hook???

Maybe bring back track editor, or would it be better to hold that until GT8 when it’s (hopefully) a ps5 exclusive?

It looks like I'm not missing much by not getting my filthy paws on a PS5 yet.

  • Increase rewards in the events in the latter half of the World Circuits by approximately 100% on average.
  • Addition of high rewards for clearing the Circuit Experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
  • Increase of rewards in Online Races.
  • Include a total of eight new one-hour Endurance Race events to Missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
  • Increase the upper limit of non-paid credits in player wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
  • Increase the quantity of Used and Legend cars on offer at any given time.

Beyond this there will be a few additional patches deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and tracks and make some other fixes.

Finally, we also want to take the opportunity to lay out some of the near-term updates we are working on. We can’t confirm an exact date or specifics yet, but will give advance notice via www.gran-turismo.com.

  • Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we develop as a live service.
  • Further World Circuit event additions.
  • Addition of Endurance Races to Missions including 24-hour races.
  • Addition of Online Time Trials and awarding of rewards according to the player’s difference with the top ranked time.
  • Make it so cars can be sold.

The legendary 24-hour races, at Nurburgring and Sarthe I presume, are coming back! I think GT5 was the only game that had them. So freaking stoked!

What are the online race rewards now?

Americans love racing, we just spent all our money on actual gas instead of driving games. ;)

Honestly though I still can't pull the trigger on a $70 game. Wake me when it is patched and put on sale.
