They should ditch the standard cars and make the premium cars better. Add real vehicle damage and better sound for each car, etc.

To be honest a lot of the car sounds need work. I find it odd that that Need for Speed had bettar car sounds than GT5 and 6.

They do, but I'm sick of sony threads were ppl are defending ps2 era car models and crap sounds. Really? A game on the level of a present day GT3 would annihilate anything forza or Project Cars. They have the ability and the talent, but they already know they don't need to use it all bc drones will buy it anyway.

ppl just need to boycott one GT game and make them hungry again.

100% agree. Gran Turismo 3 was a high quality game with great polish in all areas (during its time). Seeing the series take so many shortcuts in quality just for "back of the box" stats is very disappointing as someone who was a big fan of Gran Turismo 1, 2, and 3.

Gran Turismo 6 already has more next-gen ready car models (premium cars at 500k that can be downscaled to 250-300k for gameplay) than any next gen racing game. Next.

Did you manage to figure out the difference between gameplay car models and photomode car models yet?

Where is your link stating Forza 5 has less ingame polys than GT6? Link it.

"Premium" cars were made last gen(ps3) nothing else has to be said. We've already established poly counts are not the only determining factor.
What about all the standard cars from ps2 era they'll port over too, they admitted they want to keep? you're probably fine with that decision as long as theres a sony logo on the box.
What about the sounds? you got any insight on why thats ok for every car to sound like a vacuum cleaner? Its fine right? Easily the worst sounds of any sim, and thats a very important part to any racer, especially a sim.

He did not say that. He said GT6 has more higher poly cars ready for the transition. Not all cars in the previous forza got the Vista treatment. Not sure what the exact number is though, I know at launch it only had like 20 cars. GT6 had hundreds of premium model cars.

Forza 5 only has like 200 cars too, the premium models in GT5 at launch was that number.

You're ignorant, always negative on this sub-forum, and keep name calling instead of comprehending anything people are trying to tell you.

You should have been banned from this sub-forum along with the other obvious trolls.

Doesn't make sense. Name calling? Where?

GT is a declining series, nothing wrong with being negative about things I don't like, hence the reason you have ZERO answer to my questions about ps2 era car models and terrible sounds that is universal accepted as "GT vaccum exhaust" To you, those things are fine=sony exclusive.
To me, I see them as obstacles preventing possibly the best console sim racer of all time from returning, its just a difference in mindset. If thats ignorance, well, then it is bliss. ;)

btw, link the poly model numbers that "everyone" is trying to tell me, no one knows, thats the point. Developers rarely give out those numbers, my point was proven, and if they were given, the competition doesn't give them out so that voids any accurate comparison. All you get it is guesses.

More delusional false accusations. You repeating "drone" everywhere to people correcting your technical ignorance.

READ THE THREAD. I ALREADY COMMENTED ON IMPROVING SOUNDS, BUT HERE YOU ARE ACCUSING ME OF BEING A FANBOY OVER THINGS THAT I ALREADY ADDRESSED AND ADMITTED THEY NEEDED TO IMPROVE.

You're unable or refuse to understand poly counts or different LoD models, so just give up and stop talking about them. Your constant negativity in this sub-forum is based on ignorance and fanboyism.

Where the confirmation links of the polys that I have asked for...what 3 posts now? You don't know them and neither does anyone else other than guesses

even if you DID know the poly counts, you don't know the competitions for an accurate comparison. ;) So everything you've said is basically for nothing regarding it.

I said the Forza 5 gameplay models use a reduced LoD from the 1 million photomode view models, I never claimed to know what the gameplay poly counts are, but they're obviously far less than a million. GT6 doesn't use 500k models in gameplay either, it uses scaled back versions.

Those inflated polycounts are only used in photo modes, replay modes, screenshot modes, car selection, etc. This should be very obvious to the non-ignorant.

Driveclub uses ~250k models in gameplay, that means GT6's 500k premium car models can be scaled back to ~250k for gameplay and look just as good. This is a Good Thing.

Of course you're just trolling out of a mixture of technical ignorance and fanboyism, you won't admit this is a good thing for GT7 nor will you admit you falsely accused me of ignoring subjects I already addressed earlier in the thread.

See, its basically just guessing, tons of huge ranges of 100-200k polygons give or take. GT6 uses scaled back from 500k, great what is it? No one knows. I linked an article that said 1 million forza polys simply because that was the only confirmed number the developer kept using. Gameplay is lower, surely they all are outside of photomodes etc, just confusing when no one has numbers confirmed.
I know whats good for GT7, as does everyone else=consistency.

Does it really matter what the specific number is ? and it is not really Confusing at all. GT and Forza have multiple model level of cars. The higher tier models are used for photomode, vista. The other for gameplay. GT6 has hundreds of cars at that higher tier which will make a jump to current-gen easier as they can just scale back the models to 250k( or what ever they can do).

As for GT7...what is good for it is a total overhaul. It needs a brand new physics engine. It needs all new sounds. It needs better damage and needs to break away from the antediluvian single player set up that it seems so reluctant to move away from. While the multiple quality cars are funny and sad, it is not even close to the biggest issues for the series.

It is confusing for a comparison. I understand higher levels of fidelity for photo modes, thats obvious, but what exactly are the numbers? No one has a clue other than guesses, and some of those are 100k ranges lmao. How is any comparison even accurate? I can say GT6 has 350k per car, and no one can disprove it, just like you say 250k for a scale back. Well is that a premium car average, median, what? You have no idea other than an educated guess.

What comparison ? as was stated before the numbers will be close enough for inaccurate numbers not to matter. The only real comparison from last gen was the amount of top tier models each had to cross over to the current gen, and GT won by a landslide.

Explain this in detail. You're English correct? Command that language to explain this differently. How are they close enough numbers when the guess ranges(lol thats what they are) are over 100k in many cases, no averages, no anything? Doesn't makes sense.

Because what ever the number is for each game they will be close to each other. That 100k guess spread was just to give you an idea. In reality it matters none cause as said, they will be very similar. Why does last-gen in game polys matter ?

I'm arguing the poly counts DO matter, Why? Autovista and photomode have a poly bump added to them for a reason, it increases the fidelity of the models. Hence the reason why the gameplay poly count matters as well for any type of comparison. So we need accuracy, and 100k+ inaccuracy isn't helping.

I'd also like to know where the guesses come from, are you rounding down a bit from the 1 million autovista based on your experience? Maybe your a 3D artist? Just seems very vague. Extremely.

Those modes have super jumps in polys though. 300k jump is very significant. A 30-50k jump, not so much. I doubt any average gamer would notice.

maybe, but we still don't know the differences in poly ranges with these games to even be able to say, the quality of all these games isn't within a 30-50k range then if thats the case, because I can tell a difference.

Basically ppl are just guessing based on a guess. lol. I've seen the number that autovista is supposedly 1 million, but who even knows if thats just 1-3 cars and the rest around 850-900k in that mode or whatever. No confirmation.

All these games ? what frickin games ? The difference between gameplay premium models in GT6 and those in F4 are so close you can not tell. The difference between F4 and F5, no clue, and never gave a range. The Poly count for photo mode in GT for premium cars is 500K for every one, and the Autovista is 1 million for every car. There is no way you can tell a difference between a 30-50k poly jump spread out all over a car. This also goes back to what I first said, the lighting and shading has a big impact on how a car looks. The 100k, jump in DC from last gen is not all that much, but the lighting, shading and extra detail bump makes an overall massive difference.

Time to get off this roller-coaster discussion anyway. It has no point, and will go nowhere of worth.

You're saying each car autovista is exactly 1 million, and every car in GT premium is exactly 500k photomode?

Just seems like a huge disparity in info these guesses http://forums.gametrailers.com/viewtopic.php?f=786&t=1254792#p35938870

This guy is an artist claiming under 600k for the lambo autovista.

How do you know its only 30-50k per difference in each gameplay model?

Where are you getting 100k jump with DC, 100k to what proven number? Are you saying 150k gameplay models in F4 and GT6, adding 100k equals the 250k in DC? Just trying to understand.

Sure lighting etc makes a big difference, no denying that, but if we knew more exact numbers we'd have a better idea just how much of a difference it makes. Its no big, I'm just finding out that these numbers are a hogwash that no one knows anything about. I agree though, the discussion is pointless without hard facts.

Usually they are given a budget. They'll say "you get 1 million triangles for this car for Autovista, and say, 80,000 tris for gameplay" You would then build each car within the LOD budget. A car that has a visible engine, say, will have fewer available for other bits like wheel wells, or visible wires, or bolts inside dials.

I've long held that we are at a point where lighting and shaders have a greater impact than polycount alone.

Don't give a s*** about interiors to be honest, I'm a bumper cam player.
Just hurry up and give me GT7...yea I'll even buy a prologue version.
Damn, I really wish they could get Logitech to support their GT FF Wheel for GT and Driveclub.

Another thread successfully derailed by ignorance.

Good god the Xbox sub-forum game threads are pristine compared to the Playstation sub-forum game threads. Almost every single Playstation sub-forum thread is bombarded with ignorance, constant negativity, and FUD. And that's AFTER introllovision and flynn were banned from it.

Not only that but the Xbox sub-forum game threads have plenty of lies and trash talking about Playstation games. Completely ridiculous.

I try to be nice and give credit to good or potentially good Xbox exclusive games like Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Forza Horizon, Sunset Overdrive, and Quantum Break. Unfortunately it seems they don't want to return the favor for good or potentially good Playstation exclusive games like TLOU, The Order, Driveclub, or the next Gran Turismo.

Completely agree.

I must have missed all your Xbox goodwill. CW. If so, then great. I try to be enthused about games in general as well.

As for the thread, there's not exactly a ton of information about GT7 to talk about. Hopefully the game is further into development then we think.

I don't think the lack of information gives free reign to trash the series. But most of the criticisms I've read are valid.
