Gran Turismo Sport Official Thread

I was reading some comments on reddit about how this is a mind blowing experience in VR.

Nice! That was a track added in GT6, and I never had GT6. I can't wait to try it out, as it received some good praise at GT Planet back then. I can't believe we get yet another track so fast after last months update. SCORE.

Japan’s famed high speed circuit at the foot of grand Mt. Fuji has played host to countless international races on its tarmac since opening in 1961.

Following Fuji’s famed 1.5km straight, the first half is a high speed section consisting of tight corners, followed by a technical second half running on a challenging incline. In addition to the classic Fuji Speedway F layout, the Fuji Speedway GT shortcut layout has also been included, and both variants are playable in reverse.

When GT Sport launched in October 2017, one major criticism was the relative lack of content. Just 168 cars and 39 tracks (at 17 locations) made the game the least content-rich since Gran Turismo 3.

Kazunori Yamauchi had originally stated he wanted to expand the game’s car list to around 500 vehicles, all with PS4-friendly and future-proofed models. What we didn’t know at the time was that Polyphony Digital intended a regular update cycle to bring that new content to players.

As of the v1.31 December content update, this now totals 103 additional cars and 32 more tracks with seven new locations. Let’s take a closer look at how this has played out, and what more we can expect as we head into 2019.

Eight historically-significant cars will be added:
  1. Porsche 356 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster ’56 (N100)
  2. Aston Martin DB3S CN.1 ’53 (Gr.X)
  3. Shelby G.T.350 ’65 (N300)
  4. Ferrari Dino 246 GT ’71 (N200)

  6. Honda Integra Type R (DC2) ’98 (N200)
  7. BMW Z8 ’01 (N400)
  8. TVR Tuscan Speed 6 ’00 (N400)
Special Stage Route X, an ultra high-speed oval track, will be re-introduced:
  • Special Stage Route X: Total Length, 30,283m. Elevation Change, 65m. Number of corners, 2. Longest Straight, 120000m
    • The Special Stage Route X, a 30km-long oval track used for licence tests and high-speed races of past editions of Gran Turismo, has come back. With a simple layout consisting of two 12-km straights and two banked corners, it makes for an ideal place to enjoy super high-speed battles and perfect the art of drafting.

... there will be „rain“ in the next update

My usual trustworthy source (so actually no rumor...), couldn’t say if it was going to be dynamic or just „wet surface“...

I still believe dynamic isn’t in the cards, so my guess is we‘ll see new tracks (looking at Nations and Manus timetable I expect 2...) with wet surface scenarios.

For starters, the game build featured four new vehicles: Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ’69, Renault Sport Clio V6 ’00, Toyota Sports 800 ’65, and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro ’19. Only the Camaro featured in the racing in Germany, so this may not be a complete list of the cars in the update; we’ll have to wait for Yamauchi’s silhouette Tweet to find out if there’s more.

There’s also a new track on its way. This “Sardegna Road Track” features three new race tracks to complement the dirt course of Sardegna Windmills. It featured heavily at the World Tour, including as the location for the last-gasp Nations Cup victory.
