GTA V PC delayed

After all the moaning (rightfully) about GTA4 on PC hopefully they're making sureiit's a good port.
There's also the video editor that's only coming to PC that could be a reason for the delay.

It's delayed to protect console sales. They see it more viable to get the sale on console first to avoid a potential sale lost to PC and piracy. Too much piracy on PC affects how a lot of developers treat the platform. It's no fun, but it's just the usual run of the mill.

Could be. They're also quality fanatics so it wouldn't be a surprise me if they're trying to get pc right. I expect the pc version to offer even more than consoles like higher online count.

PC's are alot harder to program for as you have to make sure you're compatible on a wide range of hardware. I just want them to get it right because I totally skipped on playing GTA V on Xbox 360 (even though I bought it for my girlfriend) because I figured it was coming to PC and I would rather experience the definitive version at 60fps+.

I'd rather a delay, and get the best version.

There's no lol there.

PC will never be their focus. It doesnt matter if it runs at 1000fps and has 1000000x better textures. They will sell a fraction of the copies on PC that they will on consoles. A small fraction.

Agreed, but I'm sure most pc gamers don't care how many actually play on pc as the game is largely a single player game...they just care about playing the better version with mods. Waiting a bit is not a big deal, when they already have way too many games to play anyway.

And that is understandable.

It just seems as though they feel like the PC version should get preferred treatment because it has more horsepower. I hope PC only players get the port of the game they deserve, but they have to accept they will always play second fiddle to consoles based on sales alone.

I don't know what people think pc gamers play "second fiddle". Almost always are the pc versions of multiplats on pc better than the console counterparts. Other than sales, which really only the developers care about, there's not really anything pc gamers are playing second fiddle to. At worst, even crappy ports more often than not are still better on pc....so really, they end up playing second fiddle to console players.

99% of the time even the worst PC ports, AC3, AC4, WD, GTA 4, etc are still better than their console counter parts and it's because PC players have higher standards than console players, we expect certain features and optimizations in our games.

AC4 is just about the last game I would mention in being better. Game runs like s*** on PC and doesn't look noticeably better than anything.

But, your point stands.

Or because some PCs can just power through poor optimization :p

Someone mentions something bad about PCs and everybody loses their minds.

Used console games and rentals is the same thing as PC piracy. Better delay the console versions.

Even GTA IV was a step above the consoles because I could run it at 1080p and 60fps. Add in the graphics mods, and it was night and day difference, though that probably won't necessary in V.

I'm upset over the delay because there aren't many games I was buying this year. I mean, maybe Dragon Age, but that's probably it for this fall. I hope they make good use of this extra dev time and make it worth the wait.

yea even regular GTA 4 was a night and day different, the awful screen door dithering effect on shadows and trees was eye impaling.

I think my bro will get this for PC, by the time this comes out I will have 4 GTA V's lol. Xbox 360,PS3,PS4 and PC.
