GTX 1080 performance benchmarks leak!

43+ fps at 4k maxed? Is that with hairworks enabled? I'm running the same basic reference 980ti as you and I'm nowhere near 43fps, more like low to mid 30s with a mild overclock..enter Novigrad and it tanks.

What's your firestrike score if you don't mind me asking? Impressive numbers man...
Ever since I got windows 10 I can't get any of 3D mark 2 launch...
My Steam VR score gave me 10.9 and 11
2493 pass in 1080p maxed and 1039 pass in 4k maxed in Killer Instinct

Any hints at when the new Polaris cards would hit? I'm going to need a new card and was thinking just a 390 for now but if it would be that performance for the same price as a 390 then I could wait.

On or before Computex 2016 in late May - early June. That was the date for Nvidia as well, but then the event was confirmed at the last moment. Expecting the same from AMD, meaning, any time between now and June.

So I am hearing about 4K@43fps with The Witcher 3 maxed.... I get about that if not more now.
Unless the models with after market coolers give me 17 fps more....I will just wait for 1080ti/Titan.

That's strange. Didn't Nividia say the 1080 was faster than 2 980ti in Sli?

GTX1080 is just 980Ti x 1.2~1.3. I admit it's not "just" level of performance, but Nvidia uses too many buzzwords that kind of hide what it really is.

I just pay attention to the xx% more powerful. 25% more powerful than a 980ti will mean very little in terms of real world performance gains.

Far as I understand, Pascal GP104 and Polaris 10 weren't even designed as flagships. Both N and A were waiting for the big chip utilizing HBM2 (Pascal GP100 and Vega respectively), and when that was going nowhere they just picked the mid-tier chip, maxed it out, put out on the public. As for Nvidia they managed to overclock Pascal like crazy and put GDDR5X to turn it into a new flagship. That's the reason why it's very power-efficient and very powerful, yet not the super uber powerhouse kind.

GP104 is not the flagship anything. GP100 is the real flagship.

Just skimmed through it and cool, but 1070 would be more my level. Either way waiting until new AMD cards in a couple weeks and compare price/performance and go from there. Might not even need a card until the fall. Overwatch plays great on my computer so next game I know for sure I'll need to upgrade for is Deus Ex.

The improvement over a 980ti is wack. Its only saving grace is its starting price.

and Lolz at being faster than 980s in SLI. That seemes to have been a bit of an exaggeration.

I will more than likely stick with my 980ti until the 2nd generation of Pascal cards. Long wait, I know.

People that are downplaying how fast 1080 is are dumb. I don't think you realize how much of a leap this really is. This is an 1080...not a xx80 Ti or Titan class GPU. This is an astronomical leap of performance over GTX 980. This is why I've been saying that P100 (titan class pascal) is going to be mega scary.

Agreed. Which is also why anybody with a 980ti or Titan X really shouldn't need to upgrade till big pascal.

Agreed! They should at least be waiting for GM200's successor GP100.

I still have a 780 Ti, I skipped GM200 and will be going with GTX 1080. I only run at 1440p so anything more than 1080 is going to be overkill. I'll be satisfied.

Just for comparisons sake, here is a comparison of the Last 3 generations of Nvidia's BIG chip, kepler, maxwell and upcoming Pascal. 780, 780 Ti, Titan, Titan Black, were all GK110 (Original Titan and 780 was cut down GK110), Titan X and 980 Ti GM200 (980 Ti cut down GM200) and then we will have to see with GP100.

Whatever way they call the innards of the package the 1080ti or new Titan is what I want and will be 30 or more % better than the 1080. Probably available anywhere from October to early 2017. A 1080 is a significant jump over your current card and would be a smart investment imo.

Feel bad for AMD. They seems to have no answer to nvidia
